2023 is my year of saying yes. I moved to a big city a few months ago and I feel like I haven’t been taking advantage of all the opportunities available to me, so I want to say yes to things more often even when they may be a little outside of my comfort zone. I definitely understand the feeling of wanting to have friends at hand. It can feel incredibly lonely to be in an unfamiliar place while all your favorite people are so far away. It can also feel good to be in a place where nobody knows you and nobody expects anything of you. I tend to experience both of these feelings at the same time lol. But I do truly believe we will find the people who are meant to be in our lives no matter where we are. Friendships and community are so important, so I think that’s a great theme for this year as well <3 Enjoy your time in France! 🇫🇷
2023-01-11 06:24:42 +0000 UTCthis is my year of giving! i always try to be giving and loving but i want to take that extra step, go the extra mile. this world is so often negative and people sometimes deal w things alone so maybe giving your friend that extra squeeze when you hug them goodbye or paying for a stranger’s coffee in the morning can make such a difference <33
2023-01-11 03:57:05 +0000 UTCOH MY GOD CATS. I hope their owner will let you take a couple of pictures of their cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cats.
2023-01-10 23:46:11 +0000 UTCSo you are in France, but it's more of a happy accident that the poll worked out that way? lmao. That's better than going to France and spending all your time learning Italian, I guess. As a non French speaker, I think your French sounds very cute by the way. Have you guys seen the old article about the bird arrested in the Netherlands for shoplifting? Well, his owner was, and he was an 'accomplice'. They put a black censor bar over it's eyes in the picture of it sitting in a jail cell lol. But now I'm imagining a bunch of cute cat pictures all censored to protect their identities. I don't have any kids but I wouldn't post about them if I did. Even if you do it in the healthiest, non-exploitative way, you can't account for others on the internet. There are horror stories of mothers being harassed and stalked because another woman, a complete stranger, got emotionally attached to their kids and felt entitled to more pictures and information about them. Be safe out there, people. For the theme of the year? Hmm. I started some healthy new habits late last year and I'd like to keep those up. Too often I quickly jump into something new and get burned out. But I'd really like to stick with these ones throughout the year.

2023-01-10 15:38:35 +0000 UTCThe fact that I was mentally *dying* for some cuddles from cats last night, and now hearing about these lovely felines from you isn't really helping my mighty cuddly needs right now ;-; but knowing that you are surrounded by them (and hopefully your allergies are okay while in the process) is too sweet!! FRANCE!! Good thing the polls worked well in your favor on this one, that method acting is going to be sweet~ Having studied French for 4 years in high school, it's safe to say I'm going to need a refresher on a few words and phrases, so I'm curious how that audio is going to turn out. For social media! I've met parents that are entirely private on what they and their children do but take plenty of photos for physical photo albums, and on the opposite end I've met parents that post photo after photo, hour after hour, on various social media sites. Every person has their right to post what they want to share, but I'm naturally a private person as it is, plus I feel that others should have a right to privacy if they don't want certain memories shared online. I have an insta, but it's mainly to connect with other art and music communities, recently haven't been on it much. Themes!! That's a really beautiful (and not so stressful) way to put it. In all honesty, I don't usually go much for resolutions because it's already been implemented in my brain to try and be the better person that I was a day ago and appreciate all the little things in life that bring a smile to my face. But. If I were to tie in a theme for the year, it would have to be stability. Now, that can go for any number of factors, from financial stability to family stability, mental, friendships, or even just my thoughts to finally be quiet for once and not get too overwhelmed. Of everything that goes on in my life, no matter how organized I make things and how loving I am with my connections towards others, I feel my brain refusus to keep things stable so I feel that's an important theme to look over for the year. So... I was supposed to get out of bed about 30 minutes ago and get ready for work, so now this Cat has to zoom her way out the door in a bit 🏃♀️thank you for this sweet update, Crunchy! Make sure you meow at those cuties for us, and good luck with your french!! Stay safe out there, meow meow 💙

2023-01-10 15:20:41 +0000 UTCHey! Thank you for update. Social media: when my son was younger I posted tons of photos of him but I don't as much anymore. I'll post a photo here and there of him on like his birthday or something. Living a more private life has more of an appeal to me now. I have IG but it's mostly just to share music. There may be a few pics of my son and his dad. Theme for 2023: Self care - a continuation of what I started in 2022. I hope you continue to enjoy your time in France and wherever else your travels take you. 🧡

2023-01-10 14:01:59 +0000 UTCAhh I was on vacation recently and same with the daily 10-20k steps! Always fun aimlessly exploring. Then I got covid and had to quarantine for a bit, I don't think my steps broke 1000 daily. I just lazed in bed like a potato. 🥲 Social media: I barely use social media these days, I browse occasionally but when I look at my fb and insta feeds it just feels noisy? For lack of a better description. Reddit is probably the only sort of social media I use. I don't feel like I have to share everything about my life, I just keep in contact with people I want to talk to. Privacy seems like an afterthought for a lot of people these days. Talking to strangers: I hate parties where there's that weird ambiguity of "I kind of know this person but not well enough to talk to them comfortably", or where you're with a friend and they start talking to someone they know and you just stand there and don't know how to participate in the conversation. BUT talking to complete strangers is kinda fun. Have made random conversations before with people at a bar, or the bartenders, or just talking to other travellers when I've been overseas. I guess there's the fun vibe of the getting to know you stuff and at the end everyone walks away with a nice memory (hopefully). I used to hate that kind of small talk but I think because I have to do it at work I've gotten used to it. Themes: I don't know if I have much of a theme this year, maybe just to do more hobby things (which I guess I spent most of last year doing already lol). I have a list of stuff I want to work on so I'll make my way through the list. That and maybe make an effort to visit my mother more often too. Anyway, enjoy your time in France!!! Am jealous that you can travel around Europe so easily [cries in Australian] 🥲❤️ Also hexagons are bestagons.

2023-01-10 13:19:34 +0000 UTCBefore the new year, I went to the pet store with my dog to buy her delicious snacks for dinner. I saw a headband with deer antlers. I don't know why I bought them, but I did. I knew very well that my dog would throw off these horns (in the end, they ended up in a puddle), but I bought them anyway. Greeting kisses are also common in Russia. I don't know how similar we are to the French in this, but we kiss each other when we meet, if no one has anything against it. We also kiss our parents all the time. I do not think that I will change anything in the new year, because I am quite satisfied with my life. Although, I would like to buy my own apartment for myself and my mother. Oh and I hope to finish writing my novel to the end. Because I haven't finished one in my life 😂 Of course, I would like everyone around to finally calm down. As before, however, will not be, but maybe it's for the better. hugs
2023-01-10 13:11:16 +0000 UTCCroquant!! Your French is already better than I remember it. What a cool opportunity to housesit there. This monthly audio is going to be good! La bise (the hello kisses) is one of my favourite things about France. Truly such a lovely way to greet people, my region was 3 kisses and I loved joining a group knowing I was about to give/get about a thousand bisous. Great question about the theme for the year. I hadn’t really thought about it, but maybe 2023 will be the year to Get Shit Done. I have some things hanging over me that I’ve put off too long, I’m also planning a big trip with my family that we’ve been talking about for years. Yeah, I think that’s my theme.
