[Devlog] Lewd Dragon Game 0.1.14.0 ALPHA

Popsicle gripping update, picture unrelated.

Well, it’s been a rough couple of weeks working on the game. But at the end of it I was able to add the ability for players to grip a character’s POPSICLE and handle it in all PATREON APPROVED contexts. In addition, i was able to hopefully finalize the interior posing logic. This allowed for me to redo most of the poses and make them much more animation compatible. Because of this nonferal head aim was added to the game for players to try out. 

I thought the POPSICLE would take the most time, but it was easier than I thought, but the edge cases and engine oddities took 3x the time to address than the core code. In the game, a player only has to grip a character’s HARD AND FROZEN popsicle for it to be in their hand in the most compatible position. Over hand, underhand, top, sides, bottom, one hand and two hand. In addition, I wanted to be able to eventually allow other characters the ability to interact with each other’s POPSICLES, and I was able to leave that option in there for future me to work on. So in the future I may be able to have characters automatically use their hands and feet on a POPSICLE. You could have 5 kobolds all working together possibly. I designed the system to not care, and its pretty flexible. But this all remains subject to change.

The ingame pose logic combined with animation was really messy and hard to work with. Some skeletons have different bone rolls, and this was complicating things. So I redesigned the system to be bone and skeleton agnostic and “just work” so long as I spend a tiny amount of time setting it up initially. This was a needed step to allow for players to save their own poses in the future. However, in doing so, i had to redo all poses and resetup animations to be compatible with the standard. You will find now that animations should work smoother.

Lastly, character head aim for anthro/nonferal characters has been partially added. I am not happy with it yet, but you can test it out by going to the character’s options and enabling head aim.
