Weekly Update – A Critical Hit!

Hey everyone,

Last week I was busy with some coding related changes. One new feature I’ve added is a mechanism for critical hits during combat. Depending on your intelligence (the stat, not your personal intelligence lol) you – and all units in the game – can now land critical hits that deal double damage and features special text that is different from normal hits. This should finally give intelligence as much importance as all the other stats and it should also add a bit of variation to fights. Of course, I will have to take care that the balancing still works out, and that the battles don′t become too randomized, but that is always the case with these kinds of changes.

Aside from that, I worked quite a bit on new renders. As I said in previous posts, I really want the early phase of Chapter 1 to contain a lot more images than it currently has, one of which you can see above. Can you figure out again which event it belongs to?

Most of you probably also noticed the post from last Wednesday where I collected feedback on the new player image itself. I′ve gotten a good bit of really valuable input from a lot of people, enabling me to confidently continue working on that end, though there is still lot of work still to be done.
