I got a new PC and what it means for my content
Added 2022-01-06 00:46:57 +0000 UTCHi. As you may know -from my twitter post and messages on my discord server,- my new pc has finally arrived. I had to go for a Laptop as I couldn't find any decent-priced desktop PC, but what I got is a massive upgrade from what I had back in August.
The specs are the following:
Screen: 1080p 144 Hz, apparently has HDR support and has really nice colors.
CPU: i7-10750H, 6 cores, 12 threads
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060
Ram: 8x2 (16) GB DDR4 @ 2990 MHz
SSD: 512 GB
These specs are a massive upgrade from my previous system which was:
Screen: 1080p, Some curved, samsung display which had good colors but 60 Hz no HDR
CPU: Ryzen 3 2200g
GPU: EVGA GTX 1050Ti
Ram: 4x2 (8) GB DDR4 @ 2100 MHz
HDD: 1 TB
The PC I just got is around 2 or 3 times faster than my older system and the fact that I got an RTX GPU will allow Cycles (raytraced) renders... render incredibly fast, allowing me to put a heavier workload and potentially improve my renders, or try my hand at animation as well, but I won't promise anything. Previously, because of the previous pc not being so great it limited me a lot in what scenes I could do. I barely could do a Destiny render and by a miracle I could make a Halo render last year... but with this pc... expect content from other games as well.
I'm so excited to toy around in this thing. It only gets better from here.
