2024-04-16 04:07:45 +0000 UTCi'll go ahead and toss another fic rec in the ring - Traitor's Face by Loopy is a really fascinating series that basically changes a few things before the series starts, but the most obvious thing is that Aang wakes up a year later, so the Fire Nation has already taken over huge parts of the world. does a lot of cool worldbuilding stuff, especially with spirits, and pulls together so many cool elements of the series overall.

2024-04-05 14:17:43 +0000 UTCIf I'm thinking about the elements in like a fighting scenario I feel like I'd lean towards the body horror possibilities, like stealing the air outta someone's lungs and making tree roots and flowers grow to entomb people. But like in a non-combat forward thing, community gardens for water and earth bending. There's so many possibilities for cool art stuff too. I'd honestly be using air bending kinda like an invisible wheelchair just cause floating and/or taking literal gravity off of my shitty bones sounds amazing. I'd still use fire bending to commit arson though. I'm angy and I will cause problems on purpose but only with fire. Also light shows.

2024-03-26 02:04:33 +0000 UTCWhen asked as a kid what I wanted for superpowers I always wanted to be the combination of Storm, the avatar, and Layla (the plant bender from sky high) because that sounded like the life, but I font want to be the avatar, you can have that all to yourself lol. If I had to choose one I'd want to be a waterbender. I prefer the cold to the heat anyway, I'm already a night person so the moon and I can for sure be homies, I am working (slowly,crawling my way there but it's happening) on getting my RN so the healing aspect of waterbending would be helpful, and it's also the most similar to most of what I wanted with all of the powers I wanted growing up. Plus as a Percy Jackson girly I know that I belong in the Apollo cabin but I wanted to be Poseidons kid so bad. I also choose ice almost any chance I get in power sets.

2024-03-26 00:02:45 +0000 UTC(another wall of text incoming, you will Regret giving me carte blanche for these but also no take-backsies) first of all: falling into a fanfic spiral before you've even finished a series is SUCH a mood (and not to make this about about ouat bc this video Isn't About Her, but if you're ever in need of ouat fic recs--mostly sq tbh lmao--absolutely hmu i have been curating my rec list since 2014) second of all: becoming the avatar to fulfill the dreams of your friends who would like to be friends of a superhero is BIG dungeon master energy i have to say third of all: waterbending as a stim had never occurred to me but ur soooo right; though i posit that earthbending could also be for stimming. though maybe that's bc i was such a "i have to obsessively kick this rock down the street as long as i can until it escapes me" kid whenever i had the opportunity fourth of all: YESSSSS SOKKA HAS BEEN MY FAVORITE SINCE I WAS A KID FOR ALL THE REASONS U LISTED AND MORE, THAT'S MY BOYYYYYYYY, YOUR TASTE REMAINS IMPECCABLE AS ALWAYS. azula's a close second, and i was (and am still particularly with this show lmao) such a multishipper + rarepair guy personally, truly i have read sooooo much sokka-centric and azula-centric fic (more recs i'd be happy to give if ur ever interested)

2024-03-25 20:53:40 +0000 UTCI feel like not using earth bending is understandable in our society because we would be destroying a lot of public infrastructure like roads when using it in any significant way. Earth bending works so well in the show because they are often in the middle of nowhere.
