May Video - Three Stories about Hats

Please listen to my favorite three children's books about hats and my idea for a new type of video I want to start making.

Comments

as someone who started watching bones way to young and im still to in love with it id adore a bones video from u.

Midnightrose

Haley if you wanna craft, craft. You'll be entertaining regardless!

akodorokku

the inherent comedy of making something 20 pages long split into parts will get me every time. he's a gopher!!! my college mascot! i did not realize he was being so spooky

Haley Whipjack

I am truly and really concerned for the literacy of US youth. I, too, think if multiple adults looked me in the eye and said sixteen five year olds couldn't read, I would also teach them out of sheer spite. Kudos to you, Whipjack.

The Wizard Sea

I wrote this comment as I watched the video so welcome to my comment based novel (pt 400,000). The effectiveness of the all red page and all caps "I have seen my hat" cannot be overstated. I'm a sucker for that kind of set up. "Feesh" is a delightful way to say fish. And I love that the feesh in question is a little scoundrel, his hubris will be his downfall. (Well hubris and the snitching crab.) The comedic gold of We Found a Hat being in parts! I think the reason the matter of factness hits the brain so good, at least for me, is because the dreaming turtle is having a full ass coherent conversation while asleep! And he's not lying about it to catch his friend! He's just really coherent while asleep like a super-turtle. (We Found a Hat is the correct one to be the favorite.) What I have learned today from a children's book is that there is so much effective comedy that can be built in without any words (which I kinda knew but its always nice to be reminded) And I very much enjoyed being read to, sometimes me and my family read really long hilarious blog posts to each other and this captured the same energy. I would also absolutely enjoy watching you make crafts, I find you endlessly fun and unceasingly delightful to watch. And kudos to you for sticking by those kids, even though I'm sure it's causing some problems for your stress levels. Unrelated to any of that, the...beaver? I assume, over your shoulder looks a little demonic just by the nature of my not realizing it was there until like 75% of the way through and it just starin' hardcore. It can see into my soul and has many demands...

oh that's so good it makes me feel like i'd be stealing both from my own company And from you

Haley Whipjack

i do not have children i do not work with children i dont even remember the last time i saw i child but i an now seriously considering buying all 3 of these very good books

Fish

oh that fish for sure got eaten the words stop after the big fish finds him. implying that the narrator (hat steeling fish) is not in fact the main character but the hat is because even with out hat steeling fishes presents the story continues

Fish

we found a hat is so absolutely special its like nothing iv ever seen before im so here for an absurd childrens book about a tortoise realising his friend that being with his friends and doing things together is more important than a really truly very exilent hat (the last page is so deeply hilarious i love it so much)

Fish

"we found a hat" is so deeply pleasant and wonderful to me... based on the previous two books you start WFAH thinking that maybe the sneaky turtle will steal the hat in the night, and it almost happens! like there's this thought of "oooh that turtle wants that hat more than it wants to be a good friend" but then the dreaming turtle (completely devoid of ulterior motive, suspicion, or doubt) says with nothing but calm and peace in its heart, "yeah in my dream we're both wearing hats." and you get this moment with the sneaky turtle where it's like... almost shocked that that's a possibility? the question "we're both wearing hats?" inherently shifts the perspective from *Only One May Wear The Hat* to something innocent and curious. the final two pages, of the sneaky turtle falling asleep next to its friend, followed by the two of them wearing hats in space, are the perfect resolution to the story. the sneaky turtle finally understands the love that the two of them share, and is able to put aside its individual wants in favor of the simple happiness of being a good friend. i am enamored by this book if that wasn't obvious

I do like when you ready stories

Baddakid

I would watch most anything, I listen to your videos at work and I just like hearing you speak. It's kinda like listening to a friend talk about things their passionate about, which is how I wish I could spend most of my time anyway lol

Kelsea Chadbourne

The way I will watch you do quite literally anything. Simply if you are in it, I will watch it

Jayne

How am i supposed to watch this and the finale tonight?!?!?

Baddakid

omg do air dry clay

Joshua Caliendo

my old 3rd grade teacher used to read us BOOK books, like the class favorite was this series called Gregor The Overlander, and I think hearing about a child who falls down a laundry chute into a fantasy world of giant rats, bugs, and bats changed my brain chemistry drastically.

What2Britty

Love the idea of trying new crafts for the first time! You could name it "I could do that!"

Beardic Knowledge

thank you for reading to us because you're right i'm never too old to be read to and you're just so engaging that i was locked into i want my hat back

spicymushrooms

If you want a name for the series of "haley crafting things", may i suggest, "Unprepared Crafters?"

Cat in a skin suit

I would love to see crafting videos!

Cat in a skin suit

I read these books in my education class senior year, they are pefection

Declan Rouff

i'm actually really glad to hear you were able to give the kids half a year of having a stable teacher (i say as someone who had unstable teachers in high school and still resents it), especially since those kids have a clear appreciation for dramatic irony, haha as for crafting videos, i think it's worth doing at least one! if you're having fun, any video is worth watching in my opinion ^_^

digimaniac33

Low key I just enjoy watching pretty much everything you do so if you want to craft, I say go for it!

Becca B.

i think what i just learned from this, is i am also a child
