Anya never actually told Loid that she knew someone was drowning. She was playing out the scene in her head, imagining how Loid would be suspicious and wondering how she knew, if she just came out and said it. She opted to blurt out that she was going to look at the pool, or go practice swimming or something. I don't remember what her excuse was, but she made one up.
