Oh, I didn't even think about the parallels to addiction. My dad was a smoker and an alcoholic, and those led him to an early grave when I was 16. Sorry for getting so dark, but this show does call to mind a lot of the dark issues that we see in real life, which makes it such a great and thought-provoking show. It sounds like you conquered your addiction, and if that is the case, then I congratulate you. <3

2023-07-01 20:15:11 +0000 UTCZuko's choice is textbook addict behavior. He detoxed, got better, and then immediately relapsed when the drug was dangled in front of him again. He's not quite ready to stay clean, and it's heartbreaking to watch, especially if you have any personal experience with addiction, either through self or through a loved one. Or, as in my case, both. (Mine was only smoking, but his was oxy after surgery.)
