Great reaction to a wonderful movie. I hadn't watched it in years, so it was almost like new for me as well. I do have a minor correction: this is a Pixar film. Disney merely distributed it. I hope you'll react to more Pixar movies in the future, Bunny, especially WALL-E.

With hydrogen gas you can lift a rigid air ship, 1000+ feet long, with airplanes operating with special rigging so they can take off and return to the zeppelin, uh, airship. Reminds me of the Monty Python scit where people keep saying "Nice balloon you've invented, Herr von Zeppelin"; "It's not a balloon, it's an airship!!"

2024-11-04 05:26:33 +0000 UTCso, I literally did the calculations recently on how many balloons it would take to lift 3 8x2x4 planks to neutral buoyancy. It was on the order of 3000 balloons... Not a doable thing... and definitely insufficient to lift an entire house. However, a weather balloon 9 meters in diameter would just barely meet the lift requirements. Maybe 1000 balloons 9 meters across would be sufficient to lift a house. That being said, I loved this movie, and had no trouble suspending my disbelief when I first saw it. (ladders are much cheaper... and I'm kinda that old guy living out in the middle of nowhere wishing his house had the capability to fly away.)
