Joan of Arc (Clone High)

I don't know what to say...the did my show dirty. I was a huge Clone high fan back in the day. The premise was excellent, the humor was whip-smart and sharp. It was a great show gone too soon. Hell, I had to go out of my way and order a bootleg DVD from Canada just to watch the episodes they didn't air in the US. It's a real shame, the show had so much potential and was cut short thanks to...ironically, public pressure to cancel it, which was waaaay rarer back then. Apparently, Indians were offended at the depiction of Gandhi, Not knowing the nuance of the show, or even what a young IRL Gahndi was like. Even so, MTV was threatened with losing it's license over there entirely if it didn't pull the show. And so Clone High met an untimely and premature end before it could really get noticed.

But media revival are, nine times out of ten, a monkey's paw. Sure, you'll get your show back, but it won't come back right. That's why you don't bury them in the media burial ground. Sometimes, dead is better. But with Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the original creators, being on board to bring Clone high back, and having been devoted to reviving it since it's cancellation, I was moderately hopeful the reboot would at least be...somewhat close to the original.

But Phil Lord And Chris Miller got it revived, and then essentially handed the reigns over largely to shitty new writers, and the show suffered for it. Characters changed characters, the show became less quick and snappy, or clever for that matter, And the new characters are mostly awful and kind of...stretch out the group of 'main cast' members to a point where it makes it hard to develop any of them. Not to mention the new character designs, save Topher, are pretty awful. They are pretty much indiscernible from their historical counterparts again save Topher...

I got stuck at the musical episode in season 2 and haven't been able to move past that, but I'll have to force myself through the rest at some point. 

Anyway, that was a whole lot of jabbering just to say I drew Joan of Arc from Clone High for some human practice, as well as concept practice and pin-up turn around practice. I've got more human stuff ahead...I dunno why, I'm on a bit of a human practice kick as of late.
