Devlog 31/1/25 💻✨ + Bonus 6 release 🎉

OK, depending on where you reside on the earth, it is STILL January. Haha, ya'll know I really wanted to finish this bonus chapter by the end of the month, and by some metrics I have. It was not without a struggle, though, which I shall detail below for those who are curious about such things.

I think with this bonus chapter, I put a lot more time into the scenes surrounding the sex scene/s, but I hope the sex is still fun!

New Addition 1: Sex scene madness

Succinctly put: I almost went mad. I took an arrow (too many layers) to the knee.

My layouts don't even make sense any more because like most of the assets start off invisible now. I honestly don't even want to look at this anymore, so we're moving on.

New Addition 2: New stuff ✨

I also added a lot of new, small things in this bonus chapter because you know I just can't help myself. These include:

• Adding collar + ears to the UI avatar as well as the character portraits. Look how adorableeeeee!!! If I ever decide to consolidate the chapters into one game, I can go back and add the other stuff like the cut from chapter 6 onto the UI avatar as well.

  

• Smoother camera movement around the rooms during dialogues.

• Oh, and I finally decided to fix the chapter dates. Now the timeline of events should make a little more sense.
  

New Addition 3: Bugs bugs bugs 🦋

1. Okay, so, a few days before today, the game engine I use to make Succubus Simulator got an update. Said update broke a few vital things in the game for reasons I have yet to fully comprehend. I think they're somewhat fixed now, but one of the weirder bugs is that sometimes on the start screen that shows all the chapters, the save data won't load. This results in chapter complete checkmarks & completion rewards not appearing, as well as the player's hair not appearing as long if it is set to longer. This bug is usually fixed by a refresh or by starting a chapter, but I'm still trying to figure out what is causing it.

This problem and other new bugs seem to be more persistent on Windows computers. I'm not uploading a windows x64 version of the updated game yet because it literally just crashes on my machine. But I'll keep testing & I hope that the game engine devs fix these issues soon.

2. Another bug I've seen is that sometimes Amos/player 2 will be seen wearing player 1's clothes in the UI avatar in the right corner. Why? I'm not sure because it's not a consistent bug, and I can't figure out what conditions cause it to happen.

3.  I fixed some other bugs I found while re-playing the chapters. There was a kind of funny bug where player 2's boobs would go out of sync in the chapter 4 sex scene, resulting in them clipping through Alan's leg. This only occurred in the vulva script, though, and only the boobs were out of sync, so I probably just never had those conditions met while debugging.

Please let me know if you run into a bug! Thank you :D There's so much code and so many assets now that it gets very difficult to keep track of everything.

While programming this bonus chapter, I watched "Interview with the Vampire"  which is a show I initially wrote off because I didn't like the first episode, but I decided to put it on again as background noise and OH GOSH am I glad I did! If you like dark queer romance, I really recommend the 2022 TV series. It's messed up, but also so well-made, and I think one of the most beautiful people in the world is probably the man who plays Armand. Images don't do him justice, you have to see him act; the character has such a grace (and an interesting mix of submissiveness/dominance) to him.
