The Strongest Sorcerer, Chapter 43: "Useless Uncle" Amawaka Seigen
Added 2025-01-21 17:51:43 +0000 UTCA few minutes earlier.
Gojo Satoru was just about to teleport to Shibuya, where Umaru was located.
Suddenly.
A wave of spatial distortion rippled through the air as the Gate to Magano opened.
A man appeared at the scene.
He was dressed in a white formal suit, a black bow tie neatly placed at his collar. His long, dark green hair cascaded down his back, with a striking yellow lock swept back from his bangs. His eyes bore unmistakable dark circles, giving him an exhausted yet sharp appearance.
“Oh, isn’t this Mr. Useless Uncle?”
Upon seeing the man, Gojo’s eyes lit up as he raised his hand, waving enthusiastically and calling out.
Mr. Useless Uncle. Ahem.
This was none other than Seigen Amawaka, one of the Twelve Guardians in the modern Onmyoji world.

Title: White Tiger.
The moment those familiar words and the all-too-recognizable nickname “Mr. Useless Uncle” reached his ears, Seigen’s once-serious expression darkened visibly.
“What are you doing here, you unruly brat?”
Seigen’s tone was irritated as he turned to look at Gojo, who was already walking toward him.
“What do you mean, ‘What am I doing here,’ Mr. Useless Uncle? Tokyo is in chaos. Of course I’m here,” Gojo replied, feigning indignation. Then, as if it suddenly occurred to him, he tilted his head and shot back with a curious expression.
“Actually, I should be asking you what you’re doing here, Mr. Useless Uncle.”
“I don’t want to talk to you. Get out of my way,” Seigen said flatly, his irritation growing.
“Ehh~? Why are you like this, Mr. Useless Uncle? I’m just being considerate and asking you. Ugh, this is why I’ll always be a lonely wanderer, never able to fit into your big happy family,” Gojo lamented dramatically, clutching his chest like a rejected character from a stage play.
Watching Gojo’s theatrical antics, Seigen’s forehead twitched with annoyance. He stared at Gojo with deadpan, tired eyes, unsure of what to say.
If anyone else dared call him “Mr. Useless Uncle,” they’d already be on the receiving end of his fist. But this brat was different.
A few months ago, they had made a bet, one that Seigen had lost. The wager? If he lost, Gojo could call him whatever nickname he wanted, and he couldn’t protest.
If Seigen had won, though, he would’ve gotten Gojo to promise to stay far, far away from him.
But, as was evident, Seigen had lost.
(What the bet was about, well, that’s a story for another time.)
“Hey, hey, Mr. Useless Uncle. You didn’t come back to Tokyo to see Otomi, did you?”
Gojo’s ever-present grin widened into a mischievous smirk, clearly teasing him.
“Ohh, I’m so moved! The great White Tiger of the Twelve Guardians came back to Tokyo just for his daughter! I’m crying tears of joy here,” Gojo said, pretending to wipe away invisible tears.
“Don’t mess around. And you better stay far away from her,” Seigen warned, his expression turning stern.
Mayura Otomi, his daughter, was Seigen’s most precious treasure—his reverse scale.
No one was allowed near her. No one.
But Gojo, completely unfazed by the warning, waved him off dismissively.
“Relax, relax. High school kids aren’t my thing.”
(Of course, if she made the first move, that would be a different story~.)
“Let’s drop this topic. What about the current situation? You got here earlier than me, didn’t you? Why are you still standing around here?” Seigen asked, frowning.
Given Gojo’s Limitless Technique, he should’ve already teleported to Shibuya.
“Just finished exorcising a Basara. What do you think I’m doing here?”
Gojo rolled his eyes and replied nonchalantly.
Exorcised a Basara just now…
Seigen’s eyelid twitched slightly.
Yet there wasn’t a single trace of disarray in Gojo’s cursed energy. It was as if he hadn’t been in a battle at all.
Although Seigen didn’t particularly like Gojo’s cocky attitude, he couldn’t deny the overwhelming strength behind it.
If Gojo said he had exorcised a Basara, then there was no doubt he had done it.
“Basara are nothing more than slightly larger ants. It’s really that simple. You see, you just…”
Gojo crossed his arms, tilting his head back as he spoke with a tone dripping in arrogance.
But halfway through his monologue, he abruptly stopped.
“Hey, Mr. Useless Uncle. Let’s hurry up and go,” Gojo said, narrowing his eyes slightly.
The protective talisman he had given Umaru—had been activated!
Seigen clicked his tongue in mild annoyance.
“If it weren’t for you running your mouth, I’d already be there, brat.”
“Well, since we’re going, I’ll take you with me. Faster this way.”
With that, Gojo casually placed a hand on Seigen’s shoulder.
[Limitless: Teleportation]
As they appeared above the barrier shielding Umaru and Ebina, Gojo glanced down and saw the two girls safe within it.
A faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
They were okay.
That’s all that mattered.
However, his gaze lingered on another figure inside the barrier—a silver-haired girl.
“She looks… kind of familiar,” Gojo muttered, rubbing his smooth chin thoughtfully.
Ultimately, he gave up trying to remember.
“Hey, brat. You gonna deal with that thing, or should I?” Seigen asked flatly, gesturing toward the colossal True Snake-Grade Kegare preparing to unleash a cursed energy jump.
Despite the overwhelming pressure the Kegare emitted, Seigen’s expression remained impassive, as if he were discussing swatting a fly.
“I’ll handle it,” Gojo said, leaning forward slightly as he stretched his arms and legs.
A sly grin spread across his face.
“After all, if my little sister’s watching, I might as well put on a good show.”
