The Strongest Sorcerer, Chapter 45: A Scene Like the End of the World
Added 2025-01-21 18:58:16 +0000 UTCThe released crimson energy sphere didn’t fly off into the distance but instead exploded mid-air.
A terrifying force surged outward, instantly reducing the Kegare on the left side to ash. Countless pentagrams blossomed in quick succession, lighting up the battlefield.
At the same time, the shockwave generated by the explosion whipped up a ferocious windstorm that swept through the entire area.
Gojo Satoru’s snow-white hair was blown into a chaotic mess by the gusts.
“ROAR—!”
The low-level Kegare, devoid of intelligence, continued to rush forward like a swarm.
To them, there was only one goal—to devour this human’s cursed energy!
[Limitless Technique]
Gojo clenched his right fist and grabbed hold of a rhino-shaped Kegare with his left hand.
With a casual swing, the Kegare disintegrated into debris!
Even the gust generated by his motion obliterated several Kegare that were trailing behind.
“Cursed… energy…!”
A humanoid Kegare suddenly leaped high into the air from behind the swarm.
Its grotesque mouth stumbled over the syllables as it spoke.
Clearly, this was a True Snake-Class Kegare.
Its massive, jet-black arm struck down toward Gojo with overwhelming force.
But Gojo didn’t budge an inch. Instead, the ground behind him cracked and split under the pressure, sending debris and dirt flying into the air.
“Oh? Finally, another True Snake-Class ant, huh?”
Gripping the Kegare’s arm in reverse, a cruel smile spread across Gojo’s face.
With a powerful tug of his left arm, he yanked the airborne Kegare down to the ground, slamming it into the earth.
Then, without hesitation, his foot shot forward, delivering a powerful kick.
“BOOM—!”
A pentagram of purification bloomed, and the Kegare was exorcised instantly.
“You ants are really starting to get on my nerves!”
Gojo casually dispatched another Kegare that lunged at him, his tone growing impatient.
The sheer number of Kegare was irritating—it felt like an endless tide of filth.
“I’m done playing around!”
He shouted loudly.
[Limitless: Cursed Technique Lapse – Blue]
He raised his right hand, curling his fingers slightly.
A terrifying vortex appeared in the air!
The Kegare, no matter how much they struggled, were sucked into the swirling maelstrom. One by one, they collided, merging into an indistinguishable mass. Even the surrounding buildings began to quake under the pull of the vortex.
Finally, a series of cracking and ripping sounds echoed through the air…
“BOOM, BOOM—!”
Several towering buildings were pulled into the vortex, joining the debris.
(Gojo had intentionally controlled his technique to spare the main "dish"—the samurai-armored Kegare.)
Inside the barrier…
Whether it was the Onmyoji or Umaru and her friends, everyone was frozen in place, staring slack-jawed at the scene unfolding before them.
Above them, countless pentagrams shimmered like fireworks, while ten or so tightly-packed skyscrapers spun within the vortex. The scene resembled the apocalypse itself.
“Is this… Kami (God)?”
Finally, one of the Onmyoji collapsed weakly to the ground, unable to process the spectacle before him.
“Huff, huff—”
The other Onmyoji gasped for air, as if trying to calm their rapidly beating hearts.
Seigen Amawaka, however, maintained his usual poker face.
After all, he had fought Gojo a year ago and witnessed destruction and power far more terrifying than this.
“Umaru, is he really your brother?”
Nana Ebina, her eyes wide and heart pounding, asked in a trembling voice.
Umaru fell silent for a moment before nodding seriously.
“Yes, he’s my brother.”
There was no mistaking that familiar feeling—it really was him.
But at the same time, this Gojo Satoru, who wielded godlike power, felt so distant and unfamiliar.
To her, her brother was nothing more than a laid-back slacker who loved sweets and spent his days lounging around.
“So, Oniichan… when you said your job was ‘taking care of monsters’… this is what you meant, huh?”
Umaru’s heart ached with a mix of sadness and sympathy.
In her mind, possessing such power must have come at the cost of countless life-or-death battles. Like leveling up in a game, it was a progression earned through blood, sweat, and tears.
(Gojo Satoru: "Ahem, Umaru-chan, you’re overthinking. I’m just OP.")
She imagined him silently tending to his wounds late at night, keeping his pain hidden from her.
“Oniichan…”
Tears welled up in Umaru’s eyes.
Masuzu Natsukawa, meanwhile, remained silent, her azure eyes fixated on the apocalyptic scene in the sky.
Her heart raced.
For someone with a romantic mind like hers, Gojo Satoru looked incredibly cool in this moment!
“This… this is the power of an Onmyoji? It’s terrifying! Honestly, if you told me he could destroy an entire city by himself, I’d believe it.”
“City? Bro, your imagination’s too small. Try an entire country—he could wipe it off the map.”
“Mom, Dad, I’m in love. I want to pursue this Onmyoji-sama!”
“Uh, Masako, I’m your boyfriend, remember?”
“Oh, right. You are my boyfriend.”
“…Why does that sound so cold?”
“…”
The hundreds of ordinary people chattered excitedly, their discussions all centered on Gojo Satoru.
So it means that sometimes it’s really nice to show your holiness in front of others!
