The Strongest Sorcerer, Chapter 46: The Arrival of Subaru Mitejima and Tatara
Added 2025-01-21 21:14:08 +0000 UTC“Well, well, as expected of Satoru-kun. He took care of that swarm of Kegare so effortlessly.”
Suddenly, a strange female voice echoed within the barrier.
Hearing this, Seigen Amawaka’s eyes flickered, and he turned to look to his side.
“You’re here too, Mitejima?”
Indeed, it was Subaru Mitejima.
Dressed like a European aristocrat, Subaru gracefully opened her fan, hiding her stunning face while her crescent-shaped eyes glimmered with a smile.

“Why wouldn’t I come? Thousands of people have disappeared—that alone is enough to disrupt the balance of reality. Besides, Arima-sama suspects that this incident involves not only a Basara but also a hidden mastermind pulling the strings.”
A mastermind?
Seigen Amawaka’s expression shifted.
Indeed, large-scale incidents like this were exceedingly rare in history. A Basara alone couldn’t orchestrate something of this magnitude. It had to be the work of an unknown mastermind.
As he lowered his head in thought, an enormous white paper mask suddenly appeared before him.
It didn’t scare Seigen; he merely stared at it with his signature deadpan expression.
“(????)”
The mask displayed an embarrassed emoji.
Seriously? Embarrassed? What are you even embarrassed about?
“Excuse me… are you Subaru-sama and Tatara-sama?”
The female Onmyoji standing nearby cautiously asked, her voice trembling.
The other Onmyoji were equally stunned.
They couldn’t believe their eyes. Not only had they witnessed the legendary Gojo Satoru in action, but now they were also in the presence of two more of the Twelve Guardians.
A wave of excitement surged through their hearts.
If they told other Onmyoji about this, it would make them green with envy!
“Yes, that’s us~ We just arrived from Kyoto to help out in Tokyo.”
Subaru Mitejima’s crescent eyes curled into a smile as she spoke.
“We’re extremely grateful for your assistance!”
The female Onmyoji bowed deeply, her voice filled with gratitude.
“Thank you so much!”
The rest of the Onmyoji followed suit, bowing respectfully.
Subaru, however, took a step back, waving her fan lightly. “Oh, there’s no need to thank me. I’m not even the main force here—I just happened to come along.”
Her crescent eyes shifted to the back of the group… or rather, to someone specific.
Stepping forward with elegant strides, Subaru walked toward Umaru.
The surrounding civilians instinctively moved aside, making way for her.
Stopping in front of Umaru, Subaru reached out her delicate hand and gently pinched Umaru’s soft, tender cheeks.
“Oh my, so you’re the little sister Satoru-kun mentioned? You’re adorable! No wonder he keeps bragging, ‘I have the cutest little sister in the world.’ Hehe~ Allow me to introduce myself: I’m Subaru Mitejima, your sister-in-law~”
Sister-in-law?!
Umaru froze, her face a mixture of confusion and disbelief as Subaru continued pinching her cheeks.
Beside her, Nana Ebina’s face seemed to drain of color as her mind spiraled into chaos.
‘Sister-in-law… sister-in-law…’
Meanwhile, Masuzu Natsukawa remained entirely unfazed.
....
“Well, that just leaves you, my main dish.”
Gojo Satoru looked at the samurai-armored Kegare stepping out of the dense miasma. With his hands in his pockets and a grin on his face, he taunted the creature.
The samurai Kegare didn’t respond. Instead, it slowly reached for its waist.
“Shhhh—”
The grating sound of metal echoed as it drew a massive, rust-covered katana.
“Oh, how stylish,” Gojo exclaimed, feigning surprise. He covered his mouth dramatically, then shifted to a playful tone.
“But such a big sword… I don’t think I can stomach it~”
The Kegare didn’t waste time with words.
Gripping the hilt of its blade with both hands, it swung the giant katana straight at Gojo.
Gojo made no attempt to dodge. He simply tilted his head slightly and allowed the opponent to chop him.
“BOOM—”
The sword’s swing created a shockwave that blew dust and debris into the air.
"Oniichan!"
“Gojo-nii-san!”
Inside the barrier, Umaru and Ebina couldn’t help but cry out in worry as they saw Gojo at the center of the attack.
Why didn’t he dodge?
Even Masuzu clenched her fists nervously, though she said nothing.
“Hehe, no need to worry,” Subaru said calmly as she closed her fan and held it in her hand. Her crescent eyes opened to reveal the same azure blue as Gojo’s.
“You two clearly don’t know just how strong your brother is. Let me explain it briefly: a year ago, before Satoru-kun even joined the Onmyoji world, we—the Twelve Guardians and Arima-sama—were considered the peak of Onmyoji power, the strongest.”
Everyone nearby perked up their ears, listening intently.
“But after Satoru-kun appeared, the entire Onmyoji world came to agree on one thing: the strongest is now Gojo Satoru. And this Kegare? It hasn’t even reached the level of a Basara yet. Even if it were, Satoru-kun could crush it effortlessly.”
“So, you really don’t need to worry.”
Hearing this, Umaru and the others stood in stunned silence.
The person saving them wasn’t just strong—he was on an entirely different level.
While Umaru felt slightly reassured, she still couldn’t shake her concern as she looked ahead.
The dust slowly settled…
“Ah, tsk tsk. Your sword’s no good—it broke after just one swing.”
Gojo’s playful voice rang out.
Standing there, still unscathed, he had his hands in his pockets and a grin on his face.
The massive katana, now just a broken, jagged edge, was suspended a mere meter away from him, unable to move any closer.
If one looked closely, they’d see the Kegare’s arms trembling as it struggled to press the blade forward, to no avail.
[Limitless Technique]
“Splat—”
The samurai Kegare’s arms and legs exploded simultaneously, leaving it kneeling on the ground as black smoke billowed upward.
Its katana fell with a crash, crushing several nearby buildings.
“Sorry I didn’t let you complete your cursed energy jump and become a Basara, but I’m bored now.”
Gojo raised his left index finger.
[Limitless: Cursed Technique Reversal – Red]
Crimson light illuminated the surroundings as a black sphere began to swell, turning red.
In less than a second…
A crimson shockwave shot forward in a straight line.
The deafening sound of the explosion echoed through the heavens and earth.
A massive pentagram of purification lit up the sky.
The samurai Kegare was exorcised.
