The Strongest Sorcerer, Chapter 48: The Meeting of Masuzu Natsukawa and Marin Kitagawa

Morning.

Gojo Satoru opened his eyes and let out an uncontrollable yawn.

Turning his head, he glanced at Subaru Mitejima, who was still fast asleep beside him, clinging to his arm.

Last night… sure was a storm, wasn’t it?

Carefully sliding his arm out from her grasp, Gojo walked over to the wardrobe, pulled out a pair of pants, and opened the window to let some fresh air in.

The room definitely needed ventilation to get rid of the strange lingering smell.

“Mmm—”

Subaru stirred, waking up. As she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Gojo standing by the window.

“Good morning, Satoru-kun,” she said with a gentle smile.

“Did I wake you up?”

“No, not at all,” she replied, her soft smile never wavering.

At that moment, she felt a sense of peace. After all, she’d made up her mind last night—it had been the right decision to give her first time to him.

Gojo nodded and began putting on his shirt, tucking it into his pants. But after a moment, he tugged it out halfway, giving it a more casual look. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he turned to Subaru.

“What do you want for breakfast?”

“Whatever you make is fine. Just don’t poison me, okay?”

Subaru teased with a playful smile.

“I swear, I can’t win with you,” Gojo said with a resigned chuckle as he ruffled her silky golden hair.

After all, she was the first woman in this world he’d been intimate with—it wouldn’t hurt to be a bit more indulgent.

(*Shizuka Hiratsuka: "Did you see my fist just now?")

As Gojo left the room, thoughtfully closing the door behind him, Subaru stretched lazily, her graceful movements accentuating her stunning figure.

Though her body still felt a little sore, it was nothing compared to the injuries she’d endured in Magano.

When Gojo arrived in the living room, the first thing he saw was Umaru sitting on the couch, her face full of resentment.

The moment she noticed him, Umaru let out a loud "Hmph!" and turned her head away, though her cheeks flushed slightly red.

Clearly, the noise from last night’s “battle” had woken her up.

For a high-end apartment, the soundproofing sure was terrible. Zero stars, no recommendations.

“What’s wrong now, Umaru-chan?”

Opening the fridge, Gojo pulled out a few quail eggs and a bottle of fermented rice.

Clearly, he already knew why Umaru was acting this way, but he pretended otherwise. No shame whatsoever, his thick skin could deflect bullets.

“Don’t ask, baka Oniichan! Just hurry up and make breakfast! I still have school!”

“Okay, okay,” Gojo replied with exaggerated obedience as he walked into the kitchen.

Today’s breakfast plan was simple—something for Subaru to recover with.

He decided to make a dish he remembered from his past life: fermented rice egg soup. Naturally, he’d also add goji berries and red dates for extra nutrition.

As Gojo busied himself in the kitchen, Umaru sat on the couch, puffing out her cheeks in annoyance.

I was here first! she thought bitterly.

But then, reality hit her: I’m just his sister.

Her expression dimmed at the thought.

“Hello, good morning, Umaru~”

A cheerful voice greeted her.

Subaru walked out of Gojo’s room, waving casually. Her voice was a bit raspy, but her smile was radiant.

“Good morning…” Umaru replied, her face instantly turning red.

How can someone so elegant and beautiful act like… that last night?

On the way to Sobu High.

Marin Kitagawa strolled down the street with a handbag in one hand.

Her long golden hair, gyaru-style outfit, and stunningly beautiful face turned heads everywhere she went, especially among other students headed to Sobu High.

“Wow, she’s gorgeous. Judging by her uniform, she must be from Sobu High, but… I don’t remember seeing her before.”

“Well, Sobu has thousands of students. It’s not like you can remember them all.”

“Hey, don’t insult my memory! I may forget some people, but not girls this pretty. I’d definitely remember someone like her!”

“Tch, yeah, she’s a knockout. I’m almost tempted to ask her out myself.”

“You should totally try! I’ll cheer you on!”

“What?! You little—”

As Marin’s figure disappeared down the street, the students continued to chatter excitedly about her.

When Marin arrived at school, she realized something major—she didn’t know which class she was in.

The signs indicating classroom assignments had been taken down a while ago, leaving her stranded.

In her frustration, Marin suddenly spotted a white-haired girl ahead of her.

Her eyes lit up, and she ran over, tapping the girl on the shoulder.

“Hey, excuse me, could you tell me where Class 1-F is?”

“Huh?”

The white-haired girl—Masuzu Natsukawa—blinked in surprise, her expression blank for a moment.

In truth, she was also looking for Class 1-F.

Seeing Marin’s bright smile, Masuzu felt slightly embarrassed. “Uh, actually… I’m trying to find Class 1-F too.”

“Wait, really?!” Marin exclaimed, just as surprised.

But then her excitement returned. “Then that means we’re classmates! I’m Marin Kitagawa. Nice to meet you!”

“Masuzu Natsukawa. Nice to meet you too,” Masuzu replied with a gentle nod.

“Can I call you Masuzu-chan?” Marin asked cheerfully.

“Of course, Marin.”

Masuzu’s smile was calm and polite as always—her trademark demeanor with strangers.

“But Masuzu-chan, why are you starting school so late?”

“Me? I just returned to Japan recently and transferred here. What about you, Marin? Are you a transfer student too?”

“Nope! I was supposed to start earlier, but I got into a car accident on the first day and ended up in the hospital,” Marin explained casually.

“Are you okay now?” Masuzu asked, concern flashing across her face.

“Of course! Fit as a fiddle!” Marin said, grinning confidently.

The two walked together, chatting as they decided to find someone else to ask for directions.

Just then…

“Yo, my two adorable students. Good morning!”

Hearing the familiar voice, both girls turned around.

There stood Gojo Satoru, dressed in a crisp white shirt and sunglasses instead of his usual blindfold.
