Kaiser didn’t actually know who the final victor was between Erica and Seishuin Ena.
Logically speaking, based on their respective strengths, Seishuin Ena, who could borrow the power of Susanoo, should have had the upper hand and should have been able to secure victory. However, Erica Blandelli differed from Liliana in that she would also use scheming and strategy during battle.
Why did Liliana always call Erica a vixen?
Because she was sly!
Even though the two were evenly matched in terms of strength, whenever they fought, it was always Erica who gained the upper hand, while Liliana was repeatedly toyed with in the palm of Erica’s hand. What’s more, Erica changed her methods each time, driving Liliana mad with frustration.
While Seishuin Ena was stronger than Liliana, she was also even more straightforward, her style more inclined toward physical combat.
In such circumstances, if Erica employed some tricks during the fight, there was certainly a possibility of turning the tide and seizing victory.
Unfortunately, the two of them were still ordinary humans. Though certainly exceptional among normal fighters, in the eyes of gods or Campiones, they were far too insignificant. Even if they fought inside the Shichio Shrine, the disturbance they could cause was still limited. It was absolutely impossible to compare to Kaiser’s battles against gods, which always shook the heavens and the earth. As a result, all Kaiser heard were some clashing swords and minor explosions—beyond that, he had no idea what had happened.
When the two returned to the living room, their demeanor was perfectly normal, as if the previous duel had never occurred. It was impossible to tell who had won or lost. The only exception was Liliana, who had witnessed everything and now wore a complicated expression—leaving others to smile knowingly.
Seeing that none of the three had any intention of offering an explanation, Kaiser was happy to relax and didn’t bother asking.
After all, no matter what, for his sake, those two were never going to go all out with intent to kill. Since that was the case, he might as well let them do as they pleased.
It’s worth mentioning that Liliana had approached Kaiser privately afterward with a request.
“Your Majesty, may I serve you in the capacity of a knight?”
She was clearly provoked by Erica’s earlier comment: “You are not a knight under our king’s banner, but a captured maid.”
Her rival was competing for the position of First Knight, yet she herself was merely a maid? How could Liliana possibly accept that?
And so, for once, she thickened her face and made her request to Kaiser, hoping he would show leniency.
Kaiser didn’t particularly mind, but he still insisted that Liliana continue handling the household chores.
Joking aside, it was precisely because of her "domestic goddess" nature that he’d punished her by assigning her the role of a maid in the first place—how could he let that value go to waste?
Liliana didn’t reject doing chores either. She simply insisted on doing them in the capacity of a knight, not a maid...
And so, a strange existence was born—read as “knight,” written as “maid.”
As for the matter of Liliana being detained for punishment rather than being officially taken under Kaiser’s command, that had long since been forgotten by everyone. Even the Bronze Black Cross hadn’t dared to utter a single complaint, never once asking about it, as if they’d already tacitly acknowledged that Liliana now belonged to him.
In any case, after Kaiser agreed to Liliana’s request, she departed happily.
As for Mariya Yuri... hmm, she returned home once, seemingly to confirm something. That same night, she vanished and didn’t come back to stay at the office, as if she were making a very clumsy attempt at keeping her distance.
Coupled with the fact that Erica and Seishuin Ena had also disappeared without explanation—who knew what disputes might have occurred—Kaiser found himself in rare peace that evening.
“Having things quiet like this once in a while isn’t bad either.”
In the office’s bathroom, Kaiser lay soaking comfortably in the bathtub.
He rarely took baths, but in this island nation, bathing was a deeply respected practice. The bathtub here was also quite large, which, for once, gave Kaiser the urge to enjoy a soak.
But as he bathed, he heard a voice that absolutely should not have appeared here.
“Everyone needs to relax now and then. You just finished a divine battle—I can understand. But for me to get this close to you without you noticing anything strange... dear brother, this kind of carelessness is unacceptable.”
A voice so melodious it sounded like heavenly music suddenly reached his ears, causing Kaiser’s body to stiffen.
Then, as expected, he noticed a figure floating in mid-air above the bathtub—right there in the bathroom.
That goddess-like beauty, that voluptuous figure with skin like jade, and that heavenly voice... who else could it be but Luo Hao?
She floated weightlessly in mid-air, looking down at the bathing Kaiser like a sovereign surveying her domain—noble and proud.
“...Sister Cuilian?”
Kaiser’s mouth twitched as he tentatively spoke.
“It’s me.” Luo Hao still looked down on Kaiser, snorted softly upon seeing his reaction, and said, “You can’t even recognize your own countrywoman? There is no one in this world who could mistake the figure of Luo Cuilian, dear brother.”
“...It’s precisely because I recognized you that I couldn’t believe it,” Kaiser muttered after a moment of silence. “After all, who would’ve thought that the elder sister I just acknowledged not long ago would suddenly appear in my bathroom?”
And while he was bathing, no less.
However, Luo Hao completely misunderstood his meaning.
“There is no place in this world I cannot go,” Luo Hao said proudly, raising her head. “All under heaven belongs to the king, dear brother. Do you not understand such a simple truth?”
This wasn’t a matter of whether one could go somewhere!
This was a bathroom! And there was already someone bathing here! A man!
And you—my dear Sister Cuilian—you’re a woman!
What’s more...
“What’s with your outfit!?”
Kaiser looked at the floating Luo Hao and twitched the corner of his mouth again.
At this moment, Luo Hao was no longer wearing the traditional Hanfu she’d worn last time. Instead, she had on a bathrobe that was absurdly loose.
Not only was the robe loose, but its material was also extremely thin—pretty much everything that should and shouldn’t be exposed was on display, barely covering the essentials just enough to maintain its status as clothing.
That made Luo Hao's overly voluptuous and seductive figure basically visible in its entirety. Even Kaiser was beginning to feel flustered.
And yet Luo Hao remained entirely unaware.
“One must dress appropriately for the occasion—this is proper etiquette, no?” Luo Hao looked at Kaiser with the eyes of a mentor scolding a wayward junior, and said in a lecturing tone, “Our great land of China is known as the land of propriety. Dear brother, even if you’ve spent years wandering abroad, you should still have some understanding of this. Otherwise, you’ll only become a laughingstock and bring disgrace to your title as a king.”
...Why is it that even though she’s clearly spouting nonsense, I still feel like she’s making sense?
Is it me that has a problem? Or is it her?
Kaiser started questioning life itself.
“So what you’re saying is—I’m the one making a fuss over nothing?”
Kaiser muttered to himself.
“No need to be disheartened. You’re still young, after all—there’s much to learn.” Luo Hao, seeing this, actually offered some kind words. “Since I’ve acknowledged you as my dear brother, and you call me Sister, then as the elder, I’ll properly educate you and help mold you into a proper king.”
If Lu Yinghua saw this side of Luo Hao, he would probably wonder if he’d gone mad.
That arrogant, self-absorbed, tyrannical cult leader who always acted as if no one else in the world mattered—now speaking so kindly and warmly to a man? That had to mean the sun was rising from the west.
Luo Hao herself seemed to find this amusing, and chuckled lightly.
“To think it’s truly strange—after more than two hundred years of life, all my old acquaintances have passed away one after another, and yet here I am, in a foreign land, gaining a younger brother. Truly, the world is full of surprises.”
Perhaps even she didn’t realize that her current expression and tone were incredibly gentle—utterly different from the infamous fierce demoness of the past.
Normally, she was extremely narcissistic—anyone who merely saw her body would have to gouge out their eyes, anyone who heard her voice would have to cut off their ears. That was how cruel she was.
But for some reason, in front of Kaiser—her fellow countryman and fellow Campione—Luo Hao always seemed to show unexpected tolerance.
Even more so—upon seeing Kaiser lying in the bath with a content expression—Luo Hao suddenly had a thought, and reached for her sash to undo her robe.
In the next second, the thin bathrobe slipped off her smooth skin, causing Kaiser’s eyes to widen.
That exquisite sight abruptly entered his field of vision, stunning him into silence.
Luo Hao remained entirely unfazed as her slender and curvy body, now completely exposed, descended with gravity—and in full view of Kaiser—slipped into the bathwater.
“I have no siblings. My memories from before I became king are long since blurred and discarded like worn shoes. But I have heard that siblings who are very close will bathe together like this.”
Luo Hao proudly shared this unknown source of information.
“Now, with nothing hidden between us, and me showing my sincerity, our relationship can be considered very close, no?”
...This goes way beyond just close!
Siblings?
Is this how sisters test their brothers in this world?
Who the hell could pass this kind of test!?
Kaiser was utterly speechless.
Still, looking at the smug Luo Hao, Kaiser thought it over, hesitated for a while, and finally decided not to argue over her ridiculous words and behavior.
After all, he wasn’t losing anything—so why get worked up?
Such a massive benefit was laid bare before him. If he didn’t take a good look, wouldn’t that be a waste of the blessing?
Thinking that, Kaiser accepted it—and subtly concealed his, shall we say, “compromised” state...
Chapter 387: Don’t Forget, I’m Waiting for You
In the bathroom filled with the faint sound of flowing water, the atmosphere suddenly became a little strange.
There was no helping it. This was just a bathtub inside the shrine office building of a shrine, not a bathhouse that could accommodate multiple people.
After Kaiser and Luo Hao got into the water together, even though they were sitting face to face, it was inevitable that their legs would overlap, their feet would touch, and there would even be some rubbing against each other.
Moreover, Kaiser had filled the tub with plain water—not a milk bath, nor a petal bath, not even any bath additives or foam. This led to a situation where, even though they were soaking in the water, one glance could still clearly see everything.
As a result, Kaiser’s distortion worsened, and even Luo Hao’s face inevitably showed a blush.
Just when Kaiser’s gaze began to carry a hint of aggression, Luo Hao finally couldn’t endure it and was the first to speak.
“Your battle with the Great Sage—I watched it in its entirety.” Luo Hao made an effort to adopt the demeanor of a senior, and said, “I must admit, your strength is far greater than I had imagined. Though you’re still a bit immature in how you handle affairs and not yet fully mature on the path of kingship, when it comes to battle, even I, as the King of Martial Arts, cannot find any significant flaws.”
“Your Authorities are powerful, your Magical Power is, for reasons unknown, far stronger than even mine, who is without equal under heaven, and combined with your unique body and all kinds of divine weapons...”
“Your victory over Marquis Voban was clearly not by chance, but earned through sheer strength.”
Luo Hao looked at Kaiser with eyes full of admiration and gratification.
“This is excellent. As a king of the land of China, you should win in an upright and honorable manner, defeating foreign enemies head-on, and demonstrating your greatness and strength.”
“Luo Cuilian did not mistake her younger brother. You’ve slain the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, and also defeated a suddenly appearing God’s Shadow and Witch Queen. This has already proven your ability.”
“You did not disappoint me—you’ve made me proud.”
For Luo Hao to offer praise to this extent was truly a rare event, enough to show how satisfied she was with Kaiser’s performance.
“It’s enough that I didn’t fail my duty.” Kaiser wasn’t overly flattered, instead he replied rather indifferently, “Now that the curse of the Keeper of the Horses has been broken, and the home-grown hero raised by the Yamato nation has also been vanquished, we’ve more or less recovered the face our country had lost, right?”
“Of course.” Luo Hao nodded and smiled, “I’ve already ordered Ying’er to proclaim your illustrious achievements far and wide, so that all of the martial world, and even the entire world, may come to revere your glory.”
“Now, all of the land of China knows that following me, our country has produced yet another unmatched king.”
“Dear brother, if you are willing, why not return? I’ll make you the Vice Hierarch of the Five Prisons Holy Sect. If you wish to found your own sect, I will have the entire martial world support you with everything they have, and help you ascend to the throne.”
Upon hearing this, Kaiser actually did hesitate a bit.
Whether or not he sat on a throne, he didn’t really care, but he did want to return to that homeland, to that land, and take a look.
Ever since becoming the Librarian of the Fantasy Library, he had almost never returned to that homeland. Only once, during his time in the High School DxD World, when he traveled all over the world with Kuroka and Asia, had he gone back to that world’s homeland, but not for long.
After that, Kaiser spent several decades in the world of Bleach, which meant he hadn’t returned to his homeland for what was equivalent to decades.
To be honest, he really did want to go back and take a look.
But after thinking it over carefully, Kaiser still shook his head.
“My homeland—I’ll definitely go back and visit if I have the chance, but not now.”
Kaiser’s words caused Luo Hao to furrow her brows.
“Why? Could it be you’re attached to this land?” Luo Hao spoke somewhat discontentedly, “It’s just a tiny speck of land. How could it compare to our vast and rich Central Plains?”
“If you return, you and I, brother and sister, could rule the entire martial world together. You could also come to Mount Lu and accompany me.”
“Then, you and I could spar together, chat and laugh about the world, live like carefree hermits beyond the mundane world—wouldn’t that be delightful?”
...Are you sure that’s how siblings are supposed to live?
Why does it sound like a couple’s life together...
Kaiser rolled his eyes at Luo Hao, then voiced his own plan.
“Sister Cuilian has already roamed the world, set foot in every land, and seen through the mortal world, so naturally you see reclusion in the mountains as a form of enjoyment. But I haven’t traveled this world yet, haven’t seen the various countries, and there are many things I still want to experience.”
“I still want to seek out the Heretic Gods sealed or descended across the world. I want to battle gods from various mythologies.”
“I also want to see what’s special about the mystical factions in different countries. I’m interested in the divine artifacts left behind in this world.”
“So, for now, I don’t want to live in seclusion, nor do I want to settle down anywhere and idle away my time.”
These words caused Luo Hao’s furrowed brows to relax.
“That’s true. You’re still young, and you shouldn’t live a hermit’s life like I do.” Luo Hao looked at Kaiser with softened eyes, her voice also becoming gentle as she said, “That’s fine too. Go see the world, go out and explore—it will broaden your horizons and temper your state of mind.”
“To me, the mortal world is but a dream, the world like rain—now that the dream has ended and the rain has passed, naturally nothing remains to be nostalgic for.”
“But you’re different. You still need trials, you still need to experience the joys and sorrows of the human world. Only then can you see through the illusions and attain great enlightenment.”
Luo Hao stood up, her stunning body gleaming with water before Kaiser.
“In that case, do as you wish.”
“When you’re tired of seeing the world, when you’ve traveled far and wide and want to return, come to Mount Lu and visit your sister.”
“Don’t forget, in that homeland, I—Luo Cuilian—am waiting for you.”
Leaving behind those words, the beautiful immortal princess disappeared before Kaiser, like dispersing rain mist, leaving no trace.
“...I’ll remember, Sister Cuilian.”
Kaiser gazed in the direction where Luo Hao vanished, and only after a long while did he softly murmur.
…………
In fact, after locating the Last King and using his authority to erase him, Kaiser had received a notification from the Fantasy Library.
【You have reached a key point in this fantasy world. This life experience is preliminarily complete.】
【The Librarian may choose to return at will and proceed with settlement of this life experience in the Library.】
After eliminating the final boss of the original story, Kaiser had unsurprisingly reached the moment of returning to the Fantasy Library.
However, Kaiser did not intend to return just yet.
Because there were still benefits in this world worth digging up.
With the Circle of Usurpation in his possession, and the ability to continuously grow stronger by slaying gods, Kaiser naturally wouldn’t miss out on this opportunity.
Thus, Kaiser decided to delay his return and travel the world with Mariya Yuri in search of Heretic Gods.
He very quickly acted on this plan. A few days after Mariya Yuri returned to the shrine office, he brought it up.
Only, besides the must-have Mariya Yuri, Erica, Liliana, and Seishuin Ena were all prepared to follow him and tour the countries together.
Under these circumstances, the five of them set off on their journey.
And it worked out well—with the assistance of Mariya Yuri’s extraordinary Spirit Vision, Kaiser successfully found all kinds of gods.
The first god Kaiser found was the goddess sealed in a remote corner of the Far Eastern island nation—Kaguya-hime, just like Sun Wukong.
Kaguya-hime, a character from the famous literary work The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, a mythical figure from the moon, also known as Princess Kaguyahime or Princess Kaguya. Originally a celestial maiden of the Moon Palace, she was exiled to the human world as punishment for a transgression. From a young age, she captivated others with her peerless beauty and innate radiance—a goddess whose beauty rivaled even that of Luo Hao.
Her power wasn’t very strong, which was why, with immense cost from human magi, she was sealed within the Sagano bamboo grove of Arashiyama. To release her, one had to find five special bamboo stalks within the grove and destroy them in the correct sequence.
With the aid of Mariya Yuri’s Spirit Vision, Kaiser successfully released the bamboo cutter princess. After slaying her, he obtained the five famed treasures of the tale—Buddha’s Stone Bowl, Jeweled Branch of Hourai, Fire Rat’s Robe, Dragon’s Jewel, and the Cowrie Shell of the Swallow.
These five divine artifacts formed a complete set, each with its own effect.
Buddha’s Stone Bowl symbolized sanctity and transcendence, able to repel evil and purify.
The Jeweled Branch of Hourai symbolized immortality and the beauty of fairyland, capable of extending life and healing.
The Fire Rat’s Robe symbolized wondrous power and precious treasure, able to resist cold, and wash through fire unscathed, allowing free movement.
The Dragon’s Jewel symbolized power and wisdom, able to enhance charm and boost luck.
The Cowrie Shell was an ancient protective talisman that safeguarded peace; the Cowrie Shell of the Swallow carried mystery and rarity, granting concealment abilities.
These five divine artifacts weren’t especially powerful, but each had its unique use, and Kaiser accepted them without hesitation.
After that, Kaiser led the girls to foreign lands, where they successively encountered three more deities.
The first was Ea, god of waters in Mesopotamian religion, creator of humanity and culture, god of wisdom and sorcery.
The second was Typhon, the storm-bringer of Greek mythology, possessing a hundred dragon heads, black tongues and fire-spewing eyes. His body towered to the heavens, covered in feathers with a pair of wings—king of monsters.
The third was Horus, the falcon-headed god of Egyptian mythology, protector of Pharaohs, symbol of royal power, and god of vengeance.
After slaying these three gods, Kaiser gained one divine artifact and two types of abilities.
Yes.
From two of the gods, instead of artifacts, he acquired abilities.
Chapter 388: The World's Strongest Magical Beast
Typhon, also known as Typhoeus, is a Titan giant in Greek mythology, the son of Gaia, Mother Earth.
He was born in a cave in the region of Cilicia, and from birth possessed a terrifying appearance and power—a monster even Zeus, King of the Gods, feared.
Together with his wife Echidna, Typhon gave birth to many terrifying monsters, such as the hundred-headed dragon Ladon, the nine-headed Hydra, the three-headed hound of the underworld Cerberus, the two-headed dog Orthrus, the giant lion Nemean Lion, the chimera Chimera, the sphinx Sphinx, and the sea monster Scylla, among others. Thus, he was called the Father of Monsters, the King of Monsters.
After slaying him, Kaiser gained an Authority that allowed him to summon the children of Typhon, and even Typhon himself, to control and enhance all kinds of beasts, and even turn ordinary animals into monsters for his command.
This was the first ability-type Authority that Kaiser obtained, and moreover, it was the first special ability beyond all kinds of exclusive weapons and the two Authorities.
The Witenagemot named this Authority "King of Monsters." After gaining this Authority, Kaiser acquired a power akin to Sun Wukong’s—capable of creating and summoning various divine messengers and even Divine Beasts. Typhon himself possessed power comparable to the gods, entirely equal to Athena after she returned to the Trinity.
The last god Kaiser slew was the Egyptian god of the sky, Horus—he was killed by Typhon, whom Kaiser had summoned, demonstrating the might of the King of Monsters.
And after slaying Horus, the Authority Kaiser obtained was the Eye of Horus.
The Eye of Horus, also known as the Eye of Ujat, was the eye of the Egyptian sky god Horus, holding sacred significance, representing divine protection and supreme royal authority.
In Egyptian mythology, the eyes of the sky god Horus were by no means ordinary.
His left eye represented the moon.
His right eye represented the sun.
After gaining this Authority, Kaiser's left eye could see through darkness, and his right eye was unaffected by any brilliance, simultaneously gaining the blessings of the sun's power and the moon's power. If he bathed under sunlight or moonlight, his own strength would increase to a certain extent, and his recovery ability would also greatly improve.
This was the second ability-type Authority that Kaiser obtained.
Kaiser experimented a little and discovered that the boost to his power depended on the intensity of the sunlight or moonlight, and so did his recovery. If it was high noon with blazing sun, or deep into the night with a bright moon, the strength increase could reach up to threefold, and both stamina and Magical Power would fully recover upon being consumed—completely turning him into a perpetual motion machine.
With the Eye of Horus, Kaiser could even use the blessing of the sun's power to restrain dark-type creatures, and use the moon's power to resist dark forces. Even if he lost his own Magical Power resistance, powers like Athena’s death aura and underworld aura would become ineffective against him.
As for the Mesopotamian god of all waters, the creator of humanity and culture, the god of wisdom and magic—Ea—after slaying him, Kaiser obtained a spellbook.
This spellbook allowed Kaiser to inscribe any spell he knew into it, and once inscribed, he would be able to wield those spells as naturally as moving his hands and feet. Even without understanding their principles, he could cast them; the activation conditions would be greatly reduced, and their power significantly enhanced.
After obtaining the book, Kaiser immediately inscribed all the Kido techniques he had learned from the Soul Society into it.
Then he discovered that even if he used another power system, he could still cast Kido, and they would exhibit terrifying power even without incantation.
Originally, ordinary spells were ineffective against gods or Campiones, but the spells inscribed into the spellbook could threaten even gods or Campiones, showing how greatly their power was elevated.
Most importantly, the spellbook itself had the ability to merge into his body, allowing it to be used without being taken out.
In other words, even if Kaiser didn’t take out the spellbook, he could still fully utilize the spells inscribed within. Unlike other exclusive weapons, which could only lend partial power unless taken out for full effect, this book had no such limitation.
Ea, Typhon, Horus, and Kaguya-hime—these were the last four gods Kaiser slew in the Campione world.
From that point on, even if Kaiser continued to slay gods, his Magical Power would no longer increase, because his current Magical Power had already reached an unbelievable level.
If, when he first became a Campione, his Magical Power was several times greater than other Campiones, then now, it was dozens of times greater!
With Magical Power so overwhelming, any further increase from God-Slaying would be minuscule—like a drop of water merging into a river, making no noticeable difference.
In such a situation, Kaiser also decided that his journey of God-Slaying should end here.
With his current strength, gaining one or two more Authorities wouldn’t result in a significant boost, so there was no need to deliberately pursue it.
Thus, Kaiser finally brought Mariya Yuri and the others back to China—returning to this former homeland.
After that, Kaiser spent a year on Mount Lu with Luo Hao, and at her enthusiastic invitation, joined the Five Prisons Holy Sect, becoming its Vice Hierarch—the second king of the land of China—worshiped by the masses.
At this point, all that Kaiser needed to do in this world had truly come to an end.
One year later, without anyone knowing, Kaiser chose to return to the Fantasy Library.
And the time of the Campione world was thus frozen, waiting for his next arrival...
……
"Buzz..."
As an intangible will descended, Kaiser, who had returned to the Fantasy Library, unconsciously closed his eyes. In his mind, a series of messages surfaced.
【Librarian's return detected. Beginning settlement of this life experience.】
【Based on the excitement level of this life experience and the realism of the world, the Library will—according to the Librarian's own permissions—grant additional rewards.】
【Settlement in progress...】
【Settlement complete.】
【Commencing reward distribution...】
As Kaiser received these messages, one by one, books on the bookshelves of the Fantasy Library began to shine, and one book emitting the brightest and most blinding light flew out and came before him.
"Now then, I wonder what the reward will be this time?"
Kaiser opened his eyes and looked at the book before him, with a trace of expectation in his gaze.
In this fantasy world journey, even though Kaiser had not deliberately pursued anything, becoming a Campione in itself was already a sufficiently spectacular life experience.
Only seven existed in the world—Demon Lords feared and revered by all. Becoming such an existence, even if Kaiser did nothing, his name would echo across the world, worshiped by the people.
How could such a life not be exciting?
Not to mention, Kaiser had—under the title of New King—slain so many gods, defeated several fellow Campiones, and even resolved the threat of the Last King, fully showcasing his uniqueness.
Therefore, Kaiser was indeed looking forward to this reward.
Even if, for him now, ordinary weapons could no longer enhance his strength.
In Kaiser's anticipation, what flew out from the dazzling book in the next moment greatly exceeded his expectations.
"Boom!!!"
It was a thunderous roar that shook the heavens and the earth.
This explosion occurred because a creature had landed.
"Buzz——"
When the creature appeared, the entire Fantasy Library trembled violently, then suddenly began to expand, rapidly growing in size until the place where Kaiser stood became extremely spacious—just enough to accommodate the massive creature that had descended from the sky.
"What?"
Kaiser, his expression stunned, stabilized himself and looked at the creature before him.
The creature possessed a massive navy-blue body. Its size was so enormous that Kaiser couldn’t even grasp its full form, only vaguely perceiving its silhouette—resembling a serpent, perhaps some kind of ichthyosaur.
However, its gigantic shell exuded an inorganic feeling—like steel, like a weapon. Its streamlined fuselage was as smooth as the latest nuclear submarine. Its semi-transparent scales were no different from armor—both terrifying and majestic.
On the surface of its flesh fins—each as large as an oil tanker—were many deep holes resembling whale blowholes.
All over its body, the navy-blue scales emitted a glow akin to electronic circuits.
Dazzling brilliance gradually bloomed within the circuits and holes. Combined with its massive form, the sheer sense of presence was overwhelming—making one feel as though facing an unstoppable force of nature, like a volcanic eruption or a tornado.
"■■■■■■■■■■■■■■——!!!"
A storm-like roar burst forth from the mouth of this colossal creature, unleashing waves of terrifying sound.
"A creature?"
Kaiser, resisting the storm-like shockwave, still bore a look of astonishment on his face.
"This time’s reward... is a creature?"
No... how could it be a creature?
Wasn’t it said that the rewards the Fantasy Library grants the Librarian are issued based on the Librarian’s permissions?
Then the reward given should be a weapon... right?
At least, all the previous rewards were like that!
So why would a creature appear this time? Could this even be considered a reward?
With that thought, Kaiser activated the Authority of the King of Monsters.
“——!”
In the next instant, the massive creature that had been roaring suddenly stopped.
Kaiser then stepped forward with Shunpo, appearing instantly before the massive creature and stretched out his hand, placing his palm upon its body.
The Authority within his body activated, allowing him to grasp the information of the gigantic being before him.
Leviathan: A bioweapon from the mythological era that existed on Earth before the emergence of devas. It has existed for tens of thousands of years. It is approximately four thousand meters in length, its entire body covered in magical barriers, fully armed with magic cannons, possessing countless powerful armaments. A single strike is enough to sink a small island. It is the strongest magical beast in the world.
Chapter 389: The One Being Matched for Marriage Is Actually Me?
Devas.
This is a sub-divine race referred to as ancient superhumans and ancient gods.
There exists a world where, in addition to humans, many other races have survived and thrived since ancient times.
Beastmen, elves, half-demons, artificial lifeforms, vampires, succubi, atmospheric spirits, giants, and even dragons... In this world, many non-human lifeforms coexist with humans.
Among them, all non-human races are collectively referred to as demons—except for the Devas.
They are a species that surpasses humans, a civilization that constructed a highly advanced society in prehistoric times, created all kinds of powerful weapons, regarded humans as an inferior race, and treated war as entertainment, manipulating humans into killing each other.
And Leviathan had already existed on the surface before the emergence of the Devas—it was the strongest biological weapon of the mythological era, a prehistoric magic beast that had drifted near dragon veins and slept quietly under the sea for thousands of years.
Although a magic beast, Leviathan was an artificially created weapon. Its body not only contained numerous installed weapons, but its internal structure resembled a chamber that people could enter and move about in. To call it a living super aircraft carrier would not be an exaggeration.
In other words, Leviathan was both a living creature and an armament—a weapon that could be wielded.
“So, this is the reward I received this time?”
Kaiser finally understood what kind of thing his reward this time was.
Leviathan, also translated as Levia-tan, means “fissure,” and in the Bible it is a sea monster that symbolizes evil.
In Christianity, Leviathan once became synonymous with the devil and was associated with one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Envy. That’s why, in the High School DxD World, one of the Four Great Satans bears the name Leviathan. Devils who inherit this name are either Satans or direct descendants of Satans.
But in that world, Leviathan refers to this strongest biological weapon from the mythological era—a prehistoric monster that has survived to the present and is considered the most dangerous magic beast.
Its power is enough to rival that of the True Ancestors of vampires.
Its history surpasses even that of the Devas.
“I didn’t expect that the reward this time would actually be it.”
This was undoubtedly a weapon of war more terrifying than nuclear weapons—perhaps not even inferior to Typhon, the strongest monster Kaiser had summoned using his Authority.
In other words, if this were placed in the world of the Campione, it would absolutely be a weapon capable of God-Slaying!
“If it recognizes me as its master under the effect of my Authority, it can become even stronger.”
At that thought, the surprise on Kaiser’s face finally turned into a smile.
As long as he used his Authority to forge a master-servant bond with Leviathan, making it his exclusive weapon, it would be enhanced.
Moreover, since Leviathan was both a weapon and a living creature, if he used the Authority of the King of Monsters, he could perform a secondary enhancement.
This much could already be seen from how Kaiser had just used the Authority of the King of Monsters to successfully control Leviathan.
By that time, this mighty prehistoric weapon could very well become one of his trump cards.
“Buzz!”
Kaiser immediately activated his Authority, causing golden embossing-like patterns to appear and spread toward the gigantic beast before him.
Under the inscription of the golden patterns, the ultramarine circuits on Leviathan’s body were instantly replaced by dazzling gold, becoming noble golden circuits.
“■■■■■■■■■■■■■■——!!!”
When Leviathan once again let out a storm-like terrifying roar, the circuits on its body had already turned completely gold, and the aura and pressure it emitted had increased severalfold—far more terrifying than when it first appeared.
With Kaiser’s current strength, the degree of enhancement brought about by his Authority upon bonding with an exclusive weapon was far greater than before.
“Clang——”
At the same time, the book that had flown to Kaiser’s side resonated with Leviathan, causing fluctuating light to appear on both of them.
[Open the book to enter the fantasy world recorded within, and perform a randomized extraction of a life experience.]
[Note: The Librarian holds a key component of the fantasy world recorded in the book. If the book is opened while holding this element, the range of the extracted life experience will be narrowed, yielding a background more closely related to that element.]
[The Librarian may also store away the key component of the fantasy world recorded in the book. If done so before opening, the extraction will proceed randomly without narrowing.]
The will of the Fantasy Library descended, causing Kaiser to shift his gaze from Leviathan to the book glowing flickeringly before him.
“Looks like the world I’m descending into this time is that one...”
Kaiser, already aware in his heart, pondered for a moment. Then he reached out and opened the book before him, causing its pages to automatically flip, separating one by one and fluttering around him.
“■■■■■■■■■■■■■■——!!!”
Leviathan let out another roar, and the flickering light on its body began to resonate with the pages floating around Kaiser.
This time, Kaiser did not put away Leviathan.
“In the past few experiences, the starting backgrounds were all apocalyptic. This time I want to see what kind of background I’ll get if I don’t store away Leviathan.”
With that thought, Kaiser allowed the pages fluttering around him to be gradually reduced under Leviathan’s fluctuating glow.
Eventually, only one page remained around Kaiser, and the cover of the book before him displayed a title—Strike the Blood.
“Whoosh!”
The last remaining life experience page flew into Kaiser’s mind, causing him to close his eyes and merge with that blank book, and together with Leviathan at his side, disappear from where he stood.
“Rumble rumble...”
At this moment, the Fantasy Library, which had previously expanded to a vast extent, slowly began to tremble and shrink, returning to its original state.
The starry river in the sky still flowed, and the fountain in the courtyard still gurgled. The scene remained unchanged for a hundred years, as if it would never alter...
…………
By now, Kaiser was already used to the sensation of entering a fantasy world.
Whether it was the initial spinning of the heavens and earth or the feeling of firmly stepping on solid ground that followed, it was all so familiar, so real.
However, this time, before Kaiser even opened his eyes and set foot on solid ground, a segment of memory first appeared in his mind, which he began to absorb.
It was the memory belonging to the background of this life experience.
Unlike before, this time, Kaiser’s life background seemed to be somewhat complicated, somewhat special.
In the memory, he saw himself sleeping inside a giant beast.
The beast looked like a draconic fish; its fins shimmered with iridescence, its scales were ultramarine, and its size was as vast as an island. Even slight movements in the sea caused surging currents and powerful turbulence.
It slept year after year, day after day, paying no attention to aircraft carriers or nuclear submarines, slumbering for millennia beneath the sea.
As long as nothing approached it near the dragon vein, it would not respond.
As long as no one tried to attack it, it would remain indifferent.
Hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of years... it had always been like this.
And the boy sleeping within it—who appeared to be only twelve or thirteen years old—slept just as it did, day after day, year after year, never waking.
Until one day, an immense surge of magical power suddenly appeared in a corner of the Far East seas, interfering with the flow of the dragon vein and awakening the beast.
Drawn unconsciously by this magic, the beast swam toward it and appeared in that part of the Far Eastern sea.
The source of the immense magic seemed to come from an island—an artificial island.
The appearance of this magical power seemed to be due to an accident—an accident that was never meant to happen.
Because of it, the beast appeared, startling the entire world.
Yet, the beast did not rampage on the artificial island. Instead, it suddenly turned into light and merged into the body of the sleeping boy within it.
Because of this, the boy appeared in the world for the first time and was taken in at the coast by a special agency of the Far Eastern island nation, Japan.
This special agency was a governmental department established under the National Public Safety Commission, tracing back to the Takiguchi Musha of the Heian era who protected the palace from evil spirits and demons. It handled large-scale man-made magical disasters and intelligence work. It also hosted and protected important international figures while monitoring them.
Its name was the Lion King Organization, headquartered on the japan's mainland, with sub-agencies including the Bureau of Magic Disaster Management and the training institution High God’s Forest.
The boy taken in by this organization was given the codename—Chaos Dragon.
That is the essence of Leviathan in the Old Testament. Before becoming a demon, it was a Chaos Dragon—reputedly the largest creature created by God Yahweh and a magic beast capable of destroying the world.
Upon evaluation, the boy was determined to be the control terminal created in the mythological era to command Leviathan—its core, as well as the sacrificial vessel used to seal it.
Ultimately, by the unanimous decision of the three leaders of the Lion King Organization, the boy was placed in High God’s Forest to be monitored and educated by the organization.
This was the memory of the life background that Kaiser received.
“A control terminal and sacrificial vessel for sealing...”
Kaiser’s lips twitched slightly as he opened his eyes, unable to speak for a long time.
“This beginning... is it good or bad?”
Even Kaiser didn’t know how to evaluate it.
Call it good? It sounded kind of miserable.
Call it bad? Compared to the previous ones, it seemed rather unique.
What left Kaiser speechless the most—was that he had become someone nurtured, educated, and monitored by the Lion King Organization.
And what was the Lion King Organization?
That was a matchmaking agency nicknamed the Red Thread Organization!
So in other words...
“Good grief, the one being matched for marriage is actually me?”
Moreover, what kind of operation was it to throw him into High God’s Forest?
Isn’t that an all-girls boarding school?!
