Reborn as Superman's Son, Ch 38

Chapter 38: The Marks: Eden's Lost It! We Want to Go Home! This Universe Is Too Dangerous!

"Ahh!"

In the sky, Eden locked onto a Mark wearing Viltrumite royal attire.

This was an older Emperor Mark, the commander of the Invincible army's second division. His mission complemented that of the younger Emperor Mark—one was tasked with eliminating Eden's parents, the other with eliminating Eden himself and killing everyone Eden knew.

In just a single encounter, this Emperor Mark was caught in Eden's grip like a baby chick.

"Bam! Bam! Bam!"

Yes, Eden didn't kill this older Emperor Mark immediately. Instead, he gripped the back of his skull and used him as a battering ram, smashing him into one Mark variant after another in the sky.

Every Mark that Eden targeted was shattered into pieces without exception.

"How are you this powerful?!"

Emperor Mark was stunned. He hadn't even managed to say a word before Eden grabbed him, and then he became Eden's exclusive Mark-brand meat cushion, slamming into those weaker Marks.

Eden didn't answer Emperor Mark's question. He seemed to have gone completely bloodthirsty.

In the sky, the remaining Marks panicked.

"Eden's lost his mind!"

"Damn it, we're no match for him!"

"Numbers don't matter. Even Emperor Mark can't stand against him."

"Fuck, we can't reach the first division!"

"What the hell happened to those bastards? There's no way they're all dead, right?!"

"Impossible. They're probably just having too much fun!"

"Hmph! We're dying out here while they're having fun? That's not fair!"

The Marks who'd been so confident before were now completely beaten down by Eden.

Not a single Mark could last even one exchange against Eden. They either became speed bumps for Eden or were burned to ash by Eden's heat vision.

Honestly, Eden seemed more suited for the title Invincible than they were.

When the Marks came before Eden, they could only get their asses kicked.

On the horizon, Levy watched the sky as Mark after Mark died horrible deaths, a smile playing at his lips as he danced excitedly like he was attending a grand carnival.

"Mark lives, Mark dies!

Mark becomes meat paste!

Mark burns to ash!

Mark! Mark! Mark!! They all deserve to die!"

At that moment, several Marks spotted Levy in the sky. They flew over and surrounded him, demanding forcefully, "Levy, open the portals now! Send us back to base! Eden's too strong. We're no match for him."

"Sure thing."

Levy grinned and snapped his fingers loudly, opening portal after portal radiating eerie green light.

The Marks breathed sighs of relief when they saw the portals. "Phew! Thank god! We can finally go home. I'm never coming to this universe again. Damn, Eden's scary strong." Laughing, they flew into the portals.

Then they discovered in horror that they hadn't returned to their respective universes as expected. Instead, they'd flown directly in front of Eden.

"Shit! We've been screwed! Get back quick!" The Marks spun around instinctively. Through the rapidly closing portals, they saw Levy smiling and waving cheerfully at them. "Farewell, Invincible! Farewell, Mark Grayson."

"Buzz!"

The moment the Marks tried to pass back through the portals, they slammed shut.

"Splat!"

Then, before the Marks could even turn their heads, Eden smashed them into pulp.

"Excellent! Simply excellent!" Levy grinned widely, clapping enthusiastically. Watching these Invincibles die one after another filled him with boundless joy.

Time flew by. Not until the New York sky was completely cleared of any Invincible did Levy finally calm down.

"Now then!" Levy snapped his fingers decisively. "Time to end the final act!"

"Buzz!"

As Levy spoke, his form vanished from the sky.

Meanwhile, Eden's super senses confirmed that there wasn't a single Invincible left in the entire sky. Only then did he slowly increase the pressure on Emperor Mark's skull.

Feeling his skull deforming, Emperor Mark begged continuously. "Don't! I'll talk! I'll tell you everything! It was Levy who came to us! I was wrong, spare me!"

"Wrong? You don't know you're wrong. You don't know you're about to die."

Without any hesitation, Eden crushed Emperor Mark into a lump.

"Phew..."

After finishing all this, Eden let out a slow breath.

At that moment, a green portal suddenly lit up in front of Eden. He turned to look and saw Levy humming a little tune inside—"Ding-ding-ding"

Eden could confirm that this Levy wasn't from his universe. You could tell from his brain-like head that triggered extreme physiological discomfort.

"Boom!"

Without hesitation, Eden hurled the mangled corpse of Emperor Mark into the glowing green portal. He sneered. He wasn’t stupid like Mark—why would he walk into an obvious trap?

"Buzz!"

At the exact same moment, a brand new portal silently lit up behind Eden. The Emperor Mark corpse came hurtling from behind at tens of thousands of Mach, slamming viciously toward him.

"Foolish."

Eden didn't even need to look. He simply raised his arm and spun around, smashing Emperor Mark's corpse to smithereens.

"Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!"

Countless portals opened all around Eden, rushing to swallow him up.

"Boring!" Eden suddenly accelerated, dancing through the sky and easily dodging all the portals. Before his super speed, these tricks were child's play.

Until he escaped the encirclement and discovered that up, down, left, right, all directions, every place he could land—all glowed with fluorescent green portals.

Eden decided Levy had better stay hidden forever. If he ever found him, he'd grind him into dust.

"Buzz!"

Accompanied by green light, Eden finally disappeared from the sky. At the same time, he was curious—Levy had made such a big fuss, gone to such great lengths to lure him into this trap. What was it all for?

When Eden's form passed through the portal, he found himself still in New York's sky. "Huh? You're—?"

Before Eden could think much, coming toward him was a Mark in a blue and white uniform, one of the countless variant Mark members he'd crushed earlier.

"Bam!"

Before Mark could think, Eden had already appeared behind him like a ghost, gripping his throat. Mark felt utterly helpless, his mouth going dry as he struggled desperately but to no avail.

In the shadows, Levy watched the scene before him with blood pumping through his veins. He'd planned for this moment for so long, so very long. "That's it! Kill him! Kill him now!"

As for Emperor Mark's promise that once the Mark army killed Eden and his family, he'd help Levy eliminate the Mark from his own universe?

Don't be ridiculous. Levy had never trusted him, and never planned to use Emperor Mark to achieve his long-cherished wish.

All the Marks, every single one of them, had to die.

"You're the prime universe Mark?"

However, just as Levy watched Mark's neck about to be snapped, Eden suddenly released his throat and asked calmly.

Watching Eden release the prime universe Mark's throat, Levy went completely mad, though there was nothing he could do. "Damn it! What are you doing, Eden?! You've already saved thousands of universes by killing countless Marks and Omni-Men! Why can't you just be decisive one more time, save one more world, kill Invincible?!"

"Sizzle!"

At that moment, Eden turned around and surging heat vision directly destroyed Levy's hidden camera.

Eden's universe.

In China, a dozen or so Marks had chosen to invade, but before they even entered the airspace, Thragg discovered them and came knocking.

"They brought this on themselves! If you can't become breeding stock, then just die!"

After negotiations failed, everyone immediately launched into a fight to the death. In the end, Thragg was severely injured, and the dozen Marks of varying quality were torn to pieces.

Well, after Eden beat him nearly to death, Thragg's strength had increased again.

This Thragg's power could now rival the final arc Thragg from the main world who could almost ignore elite Viltrumite Nolan's attacks after fighting Battle Beast.

In Australia, General Kregg looked seriously at his seventeen girlfriends he was shielding. "Don't worry! I'll protect you all!"

Before him lay two torn-apart Mark variants.

In the Maldives, Conquest—who was on her honeymoon—tossed a Mark's head into the ocean to feed the fish before reassuring her newlywed husband, "Actually, I'm usually quite gentle."

In England, France, and across the globe, Viltrumites all fought with everything they had in this Invincible war.

But they weren't Eden or Clark after all, so they couldn't eliminate these variant Marks with overwhelming force.

Still, each one killed at least two.

Global Defense Agency.

Cecil sat at his computer, asking ace agent Robot, "What's the status of the battle?"

"According to reports, aside from America, no other nations suffered casualties."

Robot answered truthfully.

Cecil frowned. "How many people died in this incident? Forget it, just go handle it yourself!"

He couldn't be bothered to ask anymore. After all, probably fewer people died than in any given mass shooting.

"Understood. But aside from that, we're currently facing an incredibly huge problem." Robot looked at Cecil, unsure whether he should speak.

"Talk!" Cecil signaled that Robot should explain everything clearly.

Robot took a deep breath. "Eden's missing."

"Who's missing?" Cecil was sure he must have misheard.

"Eden," Robot answered, lowering his head.

"Motherf-!" Hearing this, Cecil jumped straight out of his seat in shock, looking at Robot in panic. "Something this important—why didn't you say so earlier?"
