Reborn as Superman's Son, Ch 41

Chapter 11: Eden: Sorry, Levy, My Dad Came to This Universe to Pick Me Up!

This place had become Mark's personal playground. Everyone on the planet existed solely for his amusement—men, women, animals, and aliens alike.

The Earth where the variant Mark resided.

Several days after Mark's disappearance, a dark figure appeared in the sky, gazing down at the people below like a god among mortals.

The man in the black suit with the red cape, under the gaze and hope of countless people, destroyed Mark's statue, killed all the Viltrumites who enslaved Earth's people and the humans who aided them, and Mark's empire crumbled in an instant.

One world.

Two worlds.

Three, four, five...

Eden swept through world after world like a cleansing force, using the system to clean up universe after universe, until dawn broke.

"End simulation."

"Wait, no—return to Mark's universe."

Seeing that enough time had passed, Eden ended the simulation.

[As you command.]

After returning to Mark's universe, Eden went to the bathroom to shower, then headed to the Global Defense Agency.

"Eden."

"The person you're looking for has arrived."

As soon as Eden arrived at the Defense Agency, he saw Cecil receiving an elderly man with a graying beard.

When Cecil spotted Eden, he waved him over.

"I never expected the famous Coalition of Planets leader Thaedus to personally come to Earth to see you!"

Eden frowned when he saw the white-bearded old man.

Yes, the visitor was Thaedus—the Coalition of Planets leader Eden had once killed.

"Something's troubling you, child."

"You seem to harbor considerable hostility toward me."

"Can you tell me why?"

Thaedus noticed the hostility in Eden's eyes. With a smile, he asked calmly.

"I killed you once. In my universe."

Eden stated bluntly.

"Oh?"

"Is that so?"

"That version of me must have done something quite terrible."

Thaedus seemed unfazed.

"The Viltrumite gene virus—you created it, didn't you?"

Eden walked up to him and asked directly.

"I did create it."

Thaedus admitted it frankly.

"In my universe, Thaedus ultimately chose to settle on Earth."

"And to completely eliminate the Viltrumites, he planned to release that virus on Earth."

Eden explained.

Thaedus frowned and said angrily, "Was that world's Thaedus insane?"

"The gene virus I developed could indeed solve the remaining Viltrumite problem once and for all."

"But it could also cause irreparable damage to Earth's people!"

"After all, human DNA is far too similar to Viltrumite DNA."

Thaedus had seen countless bizarre alien species across the galaxy.

So when he first arrived on Earth and discovered humans, he was stunned that such a similar species existed.

He'd never imagined that in this universe, there would be a species that resembled Viltrumites so closely. He even thought about tracing humanity's ancestry to see if they were related to Viltrumite ancestors.

Or was it simply convergent evolution?

Incidentally, the Viltrumite gene virus in this universe had been "lost" by Thaedus. Absurdly, even the "formula" was lost.

Though Thaedus still remembered such a thing existed, he'd completely forgotten how he originally created it.

Thaedus: "Must be because I'm getting old."

Eden heard this and said nothing more.

This world's Thaedus gave him a good impression.

Eden didn't think much of it. It was normal for Thaedus to differ across worlds—just like how not every version of Mark was a villain.

"Eden, how do you plan to solve the Viltrumite problem?"

Thaedus asked.

"First, go to Viltrum and defeat Thragg."

"Then educate the other Viltrumites and make them choose to fight for justice."

"However, that educational work has nothing to do with me."

"I'm only responsible for helping you defeat Thragg."

"This isn't my universe, after all."

Eden explained.

"That's enough, child. More than enough."

Thaedus smiled with satisfaction.

As long as the invincible Thragg was dealt with by Eden, everything else wouldn't be a problem.

"When are you going to Viltrum?"

At that moment, Mark entered the conference room.

"Now, child."

Thaedus looked at Mark as if seeing the hope of the Viltrumites and nodded with a smile.

This world's Thaedus was different from Eden's world's Thaedus. He didn't hate Viltrumites—he hated Viltrum's hierarchical system. In truth, he wanted more than anyone to lead the Viltrumites down the right path.

With Thaedus's words, a Viltrumite ship rapidly descended from the sky.

Eden and Mark exchanged glances before boarding the ship.

Viltrum.

When the ultra-fast ship carrying Eden, Mark, and Thaedus arrived, Viltrum was already surrounded by a dense swarm of ships.

Thragg was leading his people in a standoff against Battle Beast, Nolan, and Allen. Neither side had made any rash moves yet.

"Father!"

After exiting the ship, Mark immediately flew into Nolan's embrace. Tears streamed down his face.

"Mark?!"

"How did you get here?"

"It's dangerous here. Go back to Earth quickly."

"Your mission is to protect your mother Debbie with Oliver."

Nolan looked at Mark in his arms. His iron resolve to fight Thragg to the death immediately wavered.

"It's fine."

"Leader Thaedus and Eden brought me here."

Mark wiped his tears and introduced Thaedus and Eden to Nolan.

"Hello, Nolan."

"I'm glad you've turned over a new leaf."

Thaedus first praised Nolan, then looked at Allen with a smile. "Thank you for your hard work, Allen."

"It's nothing, Leader."

"This is what I should be doing."

Allen grinned at Thaedus.

"Are you the hero from another universe the leader mentioned?"

Allen looked at Eden and asked.

"Sorry, Allen."

"The you from my universe—I killed him."

Eden came to Allen's side and spoke using the mental communicator.

"Bro, no need to apologize!"

"The leader already told me. The problem was with the me from that world."

"From now on, we're brothers."

"You just killed me once by mistake, no big deal."

Allen clapped Eden on the shoulder with a laugh.

"Is this your trump card?"

Thragg seemed to have had enough. He hadn't come here to watch people chat. He immediately flew toward Thaedus and roared, "Viltrumite traitor! Die!"

At that moment, Thragg had only one thought—kill the Viltrumite traitor, then move to Earth and restore Viltrum to glory!

Unfortunately, before Thragg could get close to Thaedus, his vision spun wildly. He didn't know what had happened. He tried to stabilize himself, but then he saw a muscular body spraying crimson blood, floating silently before his eyes.

That corpse looked very familiar to Thragg.

"My body?"

Thragg froze. In his mind—well, his heart was in the corpse—his brain suddenly realized: "I've been killed? Instantly killed?"

"Submit or die!"

After beheading Thragg with a single hand chop, Eden asked the thirty-eight Viltrumites before him.

Well, there should have been forty purebloods originally.

Thragg was dead. Conquest was dead. Nolan killed one when he escaped prison with Allen. And one was torn apart by Battle Beast.

The remaining thirty-eight Viltrumites exchanged glances. Finally, led by General Kregg, they all bowed to Eden.

Submitting to the stronger was no disgrace.

"Done."

Eden looked at Thaedus and Mark.

Thaedus and Mark stared dumbfounded at everything before them.

Yes, they knew Eden was strong, but they hadn't expected Eden to be this strong!

It was one thing to one-shot Conquest, but even Thragg?

"That's it?"

Mark felt dazed. He hadn't yet recovered from the shock of the final boss being killed.

Eden looked at Mark and sighed. If only his own mission were as simple as Mark's.

The final boss Thragg that Mark needed to deal with was merely the checkpoint examiner for Eden's tutorial.

The more Eden learned about his father Clark's overwhelming power, the more he felt his own future looked bleak.

The stronger Clark was, the stronger Clark's enemies would be.

"Perhaps we wrongly accused Angstrom Levy!"

"He deliberately sent Eden to this universe precisely to help us solve our problems."

Mark wiped the tears from his eyes, offering the highest respect to Angstrom Levy.

Earth.

After Thragg was one-shotted by Eden, the Viltrumites immediately became obedient and, according to the plan laid out by Thaedus and the others, were sent to Earth for reformation.

When this group of Viltrumites arrived on Earth, they discovered: "My god, what kind of miserable lives were we living on Viltrum? This is heaven!"

Originally, Nolan thought these Viltrumites would comply outwardly while opposing inwardly. Facts proved he was overthinking it—he was actually the one among all Viltrumites with the strongest willpower.

Besides that.

Eden seemed to have given up on returning to his own world. He acted like he planned to settle down peacefully in this world.

"Angstrom Levy, please come back to the main universe! I promise I won't kill you!"

Three months later.

Global Defense Agency Headquarters.

"Who is the greatest hero in this universe?"

"Is it Battle Beast, who constantly duels Dimensional Lords?"

"Or Eden, who defeated Thragg?"

"Or perhaps Thaedus, leader of the Coalition of Planets?"

Cecil held the microphone and spoke loudly. His expression was sorrowful, his words flowing with genuine emotion as he declared, "No! None of them!"

"This universe's greatest hero is undoubtedly Angstrom Levy!"

"It was he who sent the invincible Eden to this universe!"

"It was he who saved you all! It was he who saved Invincible!"

"Without the great Angstrom Levy, Invincible would have been killed by Conquest long ago."

Cecil delivered the performance with convincing sincerity.

"Bullshit!"

Angstrom Levy hiding in the shadows finally couldn't take it anymore. How the hell did he become Invincible's benefactor?! A spatial portal tore open in the middle of the auditorium, and Angstrom Levy stepped through, appearing before Cecil. "I'm not a hero!" he screamed. "I didn't save Invincible—I tried to kill him! I hate him! I want him dead!"

The instant Angstrom Levy revealed himself, time seemed to freeze.

A pitch-black figure materialized behind him, radiating murderous intent.

"What—" Levy started, but it was already too late. Eden's hand clamped around his throat, and a savage smile spread across his face. "You finally took the bait,Levy!"

"Eden, spare my life!" Levy clawed at Eden's hand, panic flooding his voice. "I was wrong, I truly know I was wrong. As long as you let me go, I'll send you back right now!"

"You don't know you were wrong," Eden said coldly, his eyes beginning to glow red. "You just know you're about to die. Go to hell and apologize to the innocent people who died in New York."

When begging didn't work, Levy switched tactics. His voice turned desperate, then cruel. "Eden! If you kill me, you can't go back! You'll be trapped in this universe for the rest of your life. You'll never see your family again! You'll die alone!"

Eden's grip tightened. "You're threatening me?"

"So what if I am?" Blue veins bulged on Levy's face as he sneered. "You're a hero, Eden. Heroes deserve to be threatened! Heroes suffer and die and no one remembers them. But if you help me kill this universe's Invincible right now, I'll send you home immediately. I guarantee it!"

"Your guarantee is worthless," Eden said viciously.

"But it works!" Levy insisted.

"Ahem."

The polite cough cut through the tension like a knife.

"Eden, are you alright?" a calm voice said. "If you don't go home soon, you'll miss our monthly family reunion dinner on the first."

Levy's eyes went wide. He turned his head—as much as he could with Eden's hand still on his throat—and saw a man standing beside them. Tall, dark hair with a touch of gray at the temples, glasses, a kind smile.

Clark Kent.

"Hell," Levy whispered. "How could Clark appear in this universe?" He looked at Clark in disbelief, shaking his head. "Besides me, how could anyone else travel so freely through the multiverse?!"

Clark adjusted his glasses with a slight smile. "Is traveling through the multiverse really such a difficult thing?"

Eden glanced at his father, then back at Levy. His smile widened. "As you can see, my father came to this universe to pick me up." He leaned in close. "Angstrom Levy, go to hell and properly repent for your crimes."

The snap echoed through the auditorium.

Eden let the body drop.
