Rewatching it with Fabi, as part of a group, has been a deeply engaging experience that widened my perspective on the show. It’s fair to say that it was one of the most highly anticipated BL releases in its day. The marketing struck the right tone, and the show itself was beautifully set up for success: a big budget, striking locations, great set design, strong props and costumes, a talented supporting cast, and an excellent soundtrack. Most importantly, the lead actors delivered outstanding chemistry and performance. The subject matter-gangsters, romance, action, suspense, mystery, and humor-made it even more compelling. KinnPorsche also arrived at a crucial time, when BL was trying to step beyond its problematic Yaoi roots and reach a global audience. While it deserves praise for these achievements, there is a darker side that has made the series a lightning rod for controversy. Violence, murder, manipulation, and sexual assault feature prominently. I mentioned that the BL industry was trying to free itself of its Yaoi roots, but KinnPorsche discarded some old toxic tropes while amplifying others. These are not new themes in media-one need only look at Pulp Fiction or Goodfellas-but in KinnPorsche, the challenge is greater because the violent protagonists are also romantic leads. Viewers are placed in a difficult position, asked to empathize with characters whose actions are often indefensible. The show is also far more sexually charged than the average BL, and some scenes veer into abuse and depravity. An additional layer of complexity is the phenomenon of hybristophilia-sexual attraction to criminals-which KinnPorsche taps into, particularly through the character Vegas. Despite being a killer, manipulator, and abuser, he attracts a large and vocal fandom. This likely stems from what I would call “benign cognitive dissonance”: while the characters are morally bankrupt, audiences can separate them from the actors' charisma and beauty. In imagination, the actor's allure is what stays. KinnPorsche was a landmark series for many reasons, and it does deserve its plaudits. It was big, ambitious and took bold narrative risks – many of which landed, and a few that did not. Three years later, it continues to spark conversation and controversy largely because of those risky gambits that failed to land.

This episode at least felt like a breath of fresh air. LOL I was definitely taking the mick about marrying Vegas, but honestly, I wouldn't put it past some people 😆 Oooh, and don't worry, I do enjoy these kinds of dramas. I love when something manages to make me feel something, whether that's sadness, happiness, or even anger. One of my favourite genres is actually horror, but I can't watch it on my own 🤣 I love the feeling of being scared out of my mind, but only if someone’s sitting next to me 😆 I do wonder how I’d react to a horror on the channel though 🤔... so really, this isn’t that bad at all!

How the pair ended up in the middle of the woods, when during the car chase the bodyguard car was just behind the truck, is beyond me hahaha. BUT! Always grateful for the sweet moments. And the nudes. Here we get to understand Kinn a little more. You will continue to dislike Vegas, Fabi, don't worry XD. Actually, in this episode we get to know that Kinn’s real personality and Porsche’s are very similar. Maybe that's the foundation behind the uncontrollable lust they have for each other. I like my love stories XD.

I've encountered these people, or people very much like them in my life...and you just deal. Maybe my life has been more interesting than other people's lives, but I never thought so.

2025-04-28 16:06:11 +0000 UTCI found it interesting how different each of Kinn/Porsche kisses have been...and how the 4th one could literally make me gasp (and I'm not a gasping person). I think it was when Porsche hugged him so tightly that sold it all for me. And I was so proud that Porsche still left! Kim has said previously " How much will you give up for the thing you love?" and Porsche knows his boundaries and sticks to them...and yet he still ends up literally trapped under Kinn's body anyway...maybe this whole story is a tragedy, right?

I don’t know how to say it but it didn’t feel scripted or anything. Just two stubborn dorks lost in the woods. XD I knew you’d come around to Kinn too, though I think without this episode to humanize him, I’d have hated him the entire way through, thinking that there was nothing redeemable about him. Patiently waiting for my Porchay scenes. ToT my baby baby! Oh yeah I almost forgot to say thank you Fabu!! Sheesh! XD 🫰🏻

But it's important to the story and it helps wrap up this episode. Also, I think it helps episode 7 make more sense. If you watched ahead already you might have missed it but its definately worth going back and watching it either way. Also, I'm glad you are coming around to likely Kinn. But don't worry about not liking him or Vegas when they do bad things. You're meant to feel that way. The story will take you on a journey with these characters. The people who love them only feel that way now that they finshed the show. Its kind of like Lestat from IWTV. Plus, the actor that plays Vegas is really hot so I think that plays a big part in how fans feel about him lol!

It’s literally not important but it makes me giggle every time 😂

2025-04-28 15:06:31 +0000 UTCthrowing your real life standards and morals out of the window merely helps with the enjoyment of this drama, of course you don't /have/ to do that! 😄 it's tricky, you are in a peculiar situation, most people who watched KinnPorsche looked at the concept and went into it with excitement. because they have some romantic and/or erotic fantasies that are perhaps not super wholesome, maybe somewhat kinky and/or straight up fucked up and those are the people this drama was aimed at. to safely and guilt-free engage with those fantasies and have some naughty fun. if you don't have them though, then yeah, it's going to be more of a challenge than a fun ride. I didn't love the drama at first watch either, even though some of my romantic fantasies are on the adventurous side, when you venture into the darker themes it's very easy to hit a deal breaker or ten. 🤷♀️🤭 - it did improve on rewatches through reactions for me though, because that's when you can add to your own impressions with other people's ideas and feelings. also: nobody wants to /marry/ Vegas! 🤣 - he is a cartoon! merely played by a person. of course there are plenty of people around who lust after cartoons, but nobody is serious about it... well, of course, there's always one, but to that person I recommend to talk about it in therapy, 'cause that's... something. I'm nearly 76% certain you were jesting when you said that, but I'm autistic enough to wanna make sure. I do hope though, that you are comfortable enough with us to drop dramas when they stop being fun. this one /will/ get more fucked up. if you are not at least morbidly curious about that, maybe worth a thought if it doesn't make more sense to ditch it. there are literally more BLs out there than you will ever be able to watch - since not a week goes by without at least one new one starting. you /can/ afford to be very selective. 😊

I am sure we could get atleast 8 episodes out of that 😍 I am up for pitching that idèa if anyone got connection in the industry 😅 And my advice is, just watch and enjoy. You feel whatever you feel for diffrent characters and it goes back and fourth kind of. Don't overthink it 😊 you are doing great. And if I would say something about Vegas.. I am someone who enjoy that character, he looks good and is interesting, but for sure I am not rooting for him for everything I have seen so far in this series. It is like.. I think Sauron in Lord of the rings is a cool entity and character but not really rooting for him to succeed 😅 But I really wish we could stay one more episode in the woods please 😊 with no maffia..
