STORY:
The Christmas time is just around the corner, and as every year, you prepare to spend it with your family. This year, you decided to surprise them a bit early as you got an extended Christmas vacation bonus at work! (Well deserved at that, you work your ass off every day!)
'This is going to be so relaxing. I can't wait to eat my mom's cooking again! Microwave meals are no fun. Thank god I was given two months off this time because I need that!'
You arrive at your parent's house and they greet you with the same enthusiasm and love as they always do! You are their favorite (and only) son and they always love to have you around. You sit and chat with them a bit, have dinner, and later in the evening head upstairs to unpack. Your room is as preserved as it was when you were a teen - old band posters, your old guitar, even your silly space themed bedsheets are there! You always love coming back to it, as it reminds you of simpler times. You glance over to your desk to see an old picture sitting there. It is of you and a cute, blonde girl, a little chubby, with a few teen acne showing through. It's your old best friend Jenny. Being next door neighbours, and going to the same middle school, you two were inseparable and both of your parents thought you would end up dating, however, going to different universities, and then having different jobs and lives, that was never possible.
'I wonder how she is doing now...' You smile reminiscing of all the fun you two had together.
It's quite late by now and you are pretty tired.
