Producer's report | Sprint 1

Hey Supporters! Two weeks have come and gone since we officially revealed Envoy, and we couldn't be happier with the reception thus far! Thanks to all of you for sticking with us during this transition period and believing in us.

Without further ado, let's go over what happened in the last two weeks! This first version of the report is still a bit rough, and you'll likely see changes in the next few reports.

Finalised our player character's model! Their default name is Ziu, although it can be chosen by the player. Check it out on Discord!
Got COVID

Kendrian

Got familiar with Godot, our new engine of choice for Envoy. He managed to put together a surprisingly complete demo project in just two weeks, so there should be no problems with the engine transition!
Designed and documented the core gameplay loop of the game! Concretely, this means:
- Establishing overarching game loop: leaving the city, accomplishing a chosen goal, and returning (this last part often gets omitted from games nowadays, but we want to make sure to implement it)
- Determining core player motivations: why should one want to explore? What value can be gained? How can players be naturally incentivised to explore?
- How the story will structurally be delivered: in our case, it mainly revolves around several narrative threads rather than a single main one, which can be explored at the player's leisure
- Other small details

Set up key functionality in our code base, including:
- OAuth for linking your supporter account to the game
- Save and load system
