D.Va Storyboard: Full Version

As I mentioned with my latest progress post, here it is. None of this is final, but it's a good general guideline for where I want to go with the story. Excuse the shitty drawings and phone camera photos! Also, spoilers ahead!

gum subtext: "Just try to pop one!"

video game: YOU WIN

D.Va:  YEAH! GG!

D.Va:  Time for some snacks!

D.Va:  Is that a challenge?

D.Va: Bring it on!

D.Va:  Snacks can wait!

D.Va: GAME ON!

chewing noises

gum inflating

inflating noise grows louder as D.Va struggles to inflate it, it backfires and forces air down her throat as it deflates

D.Va gasps for air

D.Va: Wow! Not bad!

D.Va: Time to git gud!

D.Va tries blowing up the gum again, harder this time

Once again, the gum blows back, filling her belly with more air.

D.va: No! I won't lose! Not even to gum!

gum inflation, blowback

D.Va: Wow, you're good!

D.Va shifts her leg up onto the couch

D.Va: Oof, getting stiff!

enter Mercy

Mercy: You know Hana...

Mercy: Every time you blow a bubble, your belly gets a little bigger!

D.Va loses focus in shock, dropping her controller and letting her gum blow back

D.Va grunts as she struggles to pick up her controller, her inflated belly restricting her movement

video game: YOU LOSE

D.Va: Aww, I lost?! Stupid fat belly.

D.Va: Wait, I got this!

D.Va lifts her belly and adjust her posture, as if to start pressing against it with her hands

D.Va successfully uses the air in her belly to inflate the gum to an enormous size, deflating her belly to its normal size. However, the gum still doesn't pop, and she refuses to let it go. It blows back with a large force, pushing her down into the couch and shooting her belly back up to an even larger size.

D.Va: Oh... NotLikeThis

(NotLikeThis is a Twitch emote of a man holding his head in his hands out of disappointment or frustration. I wouldn't normally put something like this in, but it fits D.Va's character perfectly.)

D.Va: No! I won't back down!

D.Va repeatedly smashes her controller against her belly, grunting loudly and causing small inflations and blowbacks with each hit until her belly is absolutely massive. She sighs with exhaustion.

Mercy: Hana, stop trying to pop that stupid gum! You'll pop yourself first!

D.Va: Can it! You can't tell me what to do!

D.Va: Watch me!

D.Va rapidly huffs and puffs into the gum, hyperventilating and puffing herself up more and more with each blowback

D.Va: Hey, I can't see! Down in front!

The couch breaks under D.Va's enormous weight and size, she lets out a quick yelp as the flops onto her back.

Mercy: Hana, what the fuck are you doing?

From D.Va's point of view, we see Mercy standing over her with a distended (but much more modestly so) belly.

Mercy: I can't believe you sometimes.

D.Va: But I--

Mercy: No buts. There's only one way I can fix this. Hold still.

Mercy: Forgive me.

Mercy leans in, bringing her lips closer to D.Va's as if to kiss her. D.Va appears startled by this sudden decision.

D.Va: Angel--

Mercy locks lips with D.Va, as if giving her mouth-to-mouth to clear her lungs. She blows into D.Va's mouth, pressing her own belly with her hand to force air into D.Va harder. This causes D.Va to start swelling up even further, creaking as she approaches bursting point. She explodes, slamming Mercy into the nearest wall. Overwatch kill feed notifications sound, showing Mercy "killing" D.Va and self-destructing.

Don't worry, they both end up fine. The explosion is non-fatal, the kill feed is just for comedic effect. Well, that and the goofy meme text I crossed out. I don't think that'll be going in the video, lol. Anyway, that's all for the storyboard. I plan on making an alternate, non-popping ending as well. Maybe D.Va equalizing half of her air into Mercy, leaving them both with huge bellies. Who knows? For now though, I'll start by focusing on the popping ending.
