Marah Animation WIP 1

I couldn't resist making best girl bigger, so I've gone ahead and made a bunch of changes to her model to make her work better for animating, since she was made with minimal rigging on her original model.

Biggest thing I changed over the last couple days was adding new bones to her armature and weighting them, especially on her face. On the original, she only has a couple moving parts: her upper eyelids, her eyes themselves, and her jaw. I expanded on this quite a bit. I also added armature for all of her fingers, as the last three on each hand were all controlled by 2 bones total. Note that these are just test poses and likely will not be part of the actual animation.

Not shown above are the Inverse Kinematics I added to her legs and both sets of arms. Long story short, this lets me position her hands and feet wherever I want, and the rest of the limb will drag along with it, sort of like the hand control rods on a Muppet. Really, really speeds up small adjustments, especially on parts that would normally drag the rest of the body with them, like the chest or pelvis.


Of course, where would we be without some good inflation shapes? My current plan is to make a water inflation where Marah drinks a little too much water with her feet. You know, because trees! :P This isn't going to be the biggest she gets of course, this is just what I've made so far.

I've got this placeholder terrain here as well, but I'll save showing that off in full until I get it fleshed out a little better. Beyond that, that's all I've got to show off for now. I'll keep working on this throughout the week, and see where that takes me! I'm as excited as you are to see how this develops, believe it or not. Stay tuned for more!

Not too much, I try avoid touching the nose and go easy on the chin/neck, but I figured I'd make it kick in faster with this one since I wanted it to make it more weight gain-shaped. Make her blow up everywhere instead of just her belly, maybe with a bit of extra jiggle/slosh or something. I like a little variety, and weight gain just seems really fitting for a big, strong Nordic woman like her!

I'm starting to understand why you like Marah so much. Also love how you started to inflate her cheeks in stage 2 (so many artists generally forget the face so it's always satisfying especially with animation to see it done right)
