On the other, it feels kind of sad that my initial reaction wasn't "Oh cool, one of my favorite artists of all times updated again!", but "Oh, right, I am in fact still subscribed to this." Don't get me wrong, the art is great, but the updates are just so glacial. Like it's October, before this the last update was a doodle in July, and the last actual comic-page was in May. It just feels kinda sad we have so many cool comic-stories left open that we're probably never going to see concluded until the commissioners pony up more cash. Hey Deuce, could we as Patrons maybe have some way to collectively help push updates for our beloved comics? Because 300$ per page is a lot for one person, but if for example there was a higher Patron-Tier where each Patron paid, for example, an additional 20$ a month, 30$ total, then if 15 people are on that tier we would have enough. You could make this higher Tier limited to just 15 people, or even 10 if they pay an additional 30$ instead, and each month these higher-tier Patrons would vote in a poll for which comic they'd like to see an update for. If we could get 30/20 people on the higher tier we would even be able to afford two pages a month, but that'd probably be asking for too much right off the bat. I freely admit I know nothing about Deuce's personal circumstances, but honestly from a fan-perspective I feel this idea would be win-win. Deuce gets more cash and functionally one assured commission, and we as fans get at least one guaranteed comic-page a month. Brat's Lesson, Astro Nun 2, Fast Lane, Wonder Woman "Paradise Lost", Agent of D.I.C.K., maybe even a full conclusion for Hard Lesson 2 and something new for Tales from the Whorehouse (t'is the season after all), there's so much we could see more of. Or, going for a real ride in the old WayBack-Machine, I dimly remember one or two pages from a Fucked Up Fairytales version of Little Red Riding Hood flying around once, that would also be interesting to see more of. You know, I came from the old Deucesworld-site before it moved to Patreon, I remember when Deuce actually had Calendar-pics, as in there was new material every month. Ah, the old golden days. Anyways, I of course can't tell if there would be enough interest from the other Patrons to make this work, just brainstorming here, but I can say that I personally would definitely be willing to part with an extra 20$ or even 30$ a month to have one guaranteed comic-page from an artist whose work I've loved for literal decades.
