White sulfur springs, commonly known as "rotten egg springs," are said to soften the stratum corneum, relieve itching, detoxify, and purify the body, earning them the nickname "the bath for the skin." The carbon dioxide gas in sulfur springs can easily corrode metal objects. Therefore, if you bathe in sulfur springs in small or poorly ventilated spaces, you must be very cautious of hydrogen sulfide gas poisoning. 『皮膚之湯』，硫磺泉就是大家俗稱的「臭蛋泉」，有軟化皮膚角質層的作用，並能舒緩皮膚的搔癢不適，坊間相傳也具有排毒、解毒的功效，對有皮膚方面疾病的人，具有減緩痛、癢的功效。 硫磺溫泉內含的碳酸氣體，對金屬製品特別容易產生腐蝕，而若泡硫磺泉的場所屬於小空間或空氣不流通，就要小心硫化氫瓦斯中毒的危險。不過，適度地浸泡硫磺泉，其實很容易將體內的痰稍微排出，採用吸入法也能舒緩支氣管及呼吸道器官方向的疾病；而金屬中毒或藥物中毒患者，在坊間也相傳泡硫磺泉能有解毒作用。另外泡完硫磺後，最好不要使用肥皂。
