CHARACTER REWORK COMING IN 0.7.0!

That's true, and I'm sure there are a couple people like that stirring things up, but honestly I understand why a lot of people are mad or upset. I screwed up - big time! And that feels like a betrayal to a lot of people. So all I can do is work hard and try to regain everyone's trust. But thank you for understanding - I really do appreciate it :)

Thanks for the honest explanation. Only further comment needed, so I will ignore the salty people on said “F site”. Some people really just want controversy to drag others down sometimes if I am to continue to be honest.....

I have actually talked about this before, but I'm always happy to do so again if it helps to clarify any misunderstandings (and I completely understand people's reactions). When I started this game I downloaded a lot of stuff - patches, mods, and megapacks. I was under the impression (naïve as it seems now) that if the stuff was available online for free then it was free to use in your projects. (I should point out that this is the first game I've ever actually created and released so this is all VERY new to me. Not as an excuse, but as context for my naivete.) I'd seen other devs use assets from various games, mods that people had created, particle effects, object models, and so on, so it honestly never occurred to me that the character cards would be an exception. As soon as it was brought to my attention that some of the cards were OCs and commissioned pieces I immediately removed them and reworked all of the characters, renders and animations throughout the game to remove any trace of the original models. I also got in touch with as many developers and creators as I could to explain and apologise (and everyone who responded was extremely pleasant and understanding about the whole thing). So I guess the answer to your original question is yes and no? Yes, I knew that other people had created the cards but no I never intended any wrongdoing - I legitimately thought they were free to use. Since no one had asked, I will... so when you took the art... Did you know you were using other people’s art or was it just an honest mistake? As an artist myself, I was incredibly bothered by this because while I personally gave away a big art project I did for free, not everyone is like me... so I just would like an honest answer because in my dealings with you so far, this seems different than what I have seen on a “certain site beginning with F”/your discord, etc. I just would like you to explain what happened because on that “certain F site”, I see the P-word tossed around and I dont believe you would do that...

I'll wait to pass my full judgement once I can see them all in the game. Though when looking at lily I get the feeling that her eyes are a bit.. big? I can't really come up with a better way to describe it, but something about them seems just a bit off.

Thanks for the kind words :) A side-by-side of every character that got reworked isn't really feasible, at least right now, as it's pretty much all of them, haha. Maybe later, when I have more time (gotta get that 0.7.0 update out!) Daydream graphics have all been updated to the new models (along with all the other graphics in the game) but if you mean the actual pregnancy system I don't have a timetable yet, sorry!

I do like the new design of some of them, but can we get a side-by-side of each character that will get a redesign? Also keep up the great work, Pixie, Emma and Kana are still my favorites, also when will we be able to see them and all the others becoming pregnant?

Liking the new reworks there. Gotta say I preferred Chloe with blue eyes they just added an extra bit of beauty to her and stood out more. New Morgana's face give her an even more authoritative, calm and sexy look . Looks more lie she could really bring you pain or pleasure depnding on what she wants. Gonna miss the features that made her look more like a fey of nature but I get that more can be done in regards to animations and scenes with her new body. Not sure about the horns but I think I can see what you might be planning with them ;) but as always can't wait to see where things go from here. especially how Chloe got that scar. Keep up the good work and hope all goes well with the family business.

I personally have mixed feelings of the appearance change of Jessica and Gwen; but it is just my personal taste in the shape of a women's chin and nose. I otherwise like the changes in their appearance and I love the changes in the rest of them.

I'm making notes on everyone's thoughts - positive and negative - so thanks for your feedback! :) Oh, and I probably should have made this clear in the OP, but Chloe's rework doesn't happen until her new event in 0.7.0 - up until then she's still the serious-haired agent girl :) I agree with you that her current look would be totally out of place as an Organisation soldier, haha.

Hmm... I'm indifferent on most of the changes. If they're better for you, then go for it. I love Morgana's and Jessica's new models definitely. But I am not a big fan of Gwen and Chloe, (partly because I was in love with their original models). I think the hairstyle is what is putting me off. The previous models' hairstyles didn't change from agent to housemate. The new models' hairstyles match Gwen and Chloe's personality after they become your housemate, but they lack the seriousness I'm looking for in a secret agent. Like if they were put in their uniforms, Gwen's pigtails and Chloe's frosted tips are going to look off, I think.

Glad you like the changes for the most part :) The Chloe changes do actually have an in-game reason so hopefully that will help smooth over the jarring transition. If not, though, and the playerbase unites in their dislike of the Chloe rework then I can always rework her again - possibly on stream so everyone can contribute their thoughts.

I love the reworks. Morgana definitely looks better and I absolutely love Quarinah!! She's drop dead gorgeous, just like the old Republica song!!

I like some of them. Morgana is actually hot now! Gwen will take some getting used to but she's also hot. Qarinah looks good too. I really don't like the new Chloe though, the old one is so much better. :(

Noted - thanks for your feedback :) I'm not going into it, but the family in question is in a different country and I may need to fly out at some point in the next couple of weeks. Hence me not wanting to take a break now and then potentially another one a week or so from now.

The darkened eyes makes them look like gangsters :/ or lacking sleep... Also not a fan of Chloe's scar. She's less plushy cuddly now especially with the sharp hair... Oh and her new eye color doesn't match her little sister's like the old one did. Qarinah didn't make it into the group shot. Morgana would look better with blossoms though that was the same with the original :P Maybe it's just the angle and lighting. Not sure how you plan to work while taking care of family as that is what some people use vacation for since that's a job in itself. Well hopefully you and your family gets well soon.

I'm collecting feedback - positive and negative - on the reworks so I've made a note on your feedback, thanks! :) The scar will have a reason (Chloe's rework will occur in her next event on Sunday) so hopefully it won't feel so weird then, but let me know! Gwen could certainly let her hair down for an outfit or two in the future, sure! Maybe if we take her out to a fancy dinner, or the theatre? Think of the possibilities... ;)

i feel kinda displeased on chloe's scar in her eye... it feels a bit wrong... no offences to arc and the other artist... but it's just my own opinion. on gwen, the new hair style is ok. (pigtails fan here) but i hope we still get to see her straight hair if possible. or better yet install a new hairstyle change option when talking to her in her room

Haha, sorry about that! Qarinah was based on a lightly edited character card that was in turn inspired by Meruccubus. Too many layers of ownership to stick with it so she needed a pretty big change. If it makes you feel any better, she's a shapeshifter so you never know - a return to the Merurrucbus look (at least for a bit) isn't off the table! :)

Do you have any specific criticisms of the designs? I'm compiling everyone's feedback so I know what changes - if any - the playerbase would like me to make :)

I'm glad you like them! Morgana got the biggest pass of all, largely due to the most common complaint I get being "Morgana looks like a tree! That's not sexy!" ;)
