PIXIE'S CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE!
Added 2020-12-24 12:01:00 +0000 UTCIt's even colder today... we searched and searched but couldn't find a single animal. I tried to convince Pixie to come back home (her little body is very susceptible to cold) but she clutched at the little sack of gifts and said she didn't want to leave until she'd given everyone "the bestest" Christmas...
So we stayed here for a while. She must have been frozen to the bone, but she never stopped scanning the field and forest for signs of movement.
Her vigil was eventually to be rewarded by the arrival of a new little friend... though she was too shy for photographs. Maybe in the next adventure...

I'm very lucky to live in such a beautiful spot right now. Quiet nature's gentle slumber, and the first, bold snowdrops peeking through here and there, reminding us that riotous life is always waiting just around the corner to burst forth in beautiful bloom. But in the meantime, sleep... and maybe the occasional sled ;) Hope you can vicariously enjoy the snowy landscape through this photo, in lieu of your own slumbering snowscape. Merry Christmas!

I don't know, something about this field full of frozen grass ...it just seems so peaceful. Like, you practically feel that nature's slumbering and gathering strength for next spring. Beautiful. Me being cold-sick might play into my appreciation (we haven't had a winter that deserved its name for several years where I live) but still... Anyway, thank you for sharing this with us.
