A More Civilized Q&A - June 2022

Hey folks!

As promised, this one is coming in a little later than normal (though we hope the various bits of bonus content we've been been putting out have been worth it!)

I'll be honest, this is one of the best Q&As we've done. Not because we dig deep on any specific issue--though we do get a lot of joy from answering "Why is it even called the Clone Wars?" This one is good for a much more simple reason: We have lots of prompts to go totally off the rails, rank Jedi bodyguards, invent elaborate cross-franchise conspiracy theories, and more.

Enjoy, and we'll see you back on the main feed next week!

Natalie, you sure you wanna sit next to The Widest Man on an airplane?

Hey guys, thanks for answering my question! unrelated, I feel like you guys missed Luke Skywalker as a seat partner on the plane. Dude's dopey enough you could probably get him to fall for you, and he's got enough stuff that he's been through he could easily keep up a conversation in a topic you'd be interested in. Hell, just asking about his life on Tatooine before the rebellion or stuff he got up to during the war on his downtime could easily fill the flight time.

So, I did actually play the Sith storylines in The Old Republic MMO, light and dark side. The Sith Warrior story is actually pretty great as light side: you get to be super sassy to a boomer dweeb of a dark master, and Vette is a good wingman companion for that. Also you deal with tempting a padawan away from the Jedi, doing so as a light side reveals the hypocrisy of the Jedi, and you get good philosophical chats with the companion about how good/evil, light/dark, Jedi/Sith aren't just two roads to a different destination. You two end up fostering a conspiracy of light side sith within the empire, and in later expansions your story goes from being a tool of the emperor to leading the sith empire against him. The Zakuul arc still sucks for everyone though. Sith Inquisitor doesn't deal nearly as well with the light side choices, you always end up on the dark council eating force ghosts for power with a bunch of jerk companions (expect for Force Lore Nerd Boy Talos, he rocks). There is some interesting stuff, but really Sith Warrior is the most rewarding of all 8 storylines for going against type.

Can't believe none of you mentioned ventress as a seat partner on the plane. Or Luminara

Is anyone else not seeing this episode in the RSS feed?

I was having a bad mental health day, so it really brightened my spirit to hear y'all read and answer my question about the Jedi and culture. Thank you all for how much work you put into this show!

I was hootin’ n’ hollerin’ about Jacen Solo when I saw TFA so thank you for articulating my Lore Lift misgivings so well.
