A More Civilized Q&A - May 2023
Added 2023-05-31 18:07:16 +0000 UTCWelcome to the Q&A for May 2023. It's a Mandalorian May baby!! We finally sit down and talk Season 3 of The Mandalorian. Does Din Djarin's side quest arc satisfy? Does Grogu's continued baby-voice cutie pie factor delight or distract? And how about them droids???

Awesome episode, I really enjoy listening to everyone's ideas and commentary. Keep at it and thanks for the banter.

2023-07-24 20:45:54 +0000 UTCA little bummed to not hear y’all discuss the Kelleran Beq Order 66 scene. One of the best scenes of the season imo; it was great to see our man Ahmed get his flowers. Great episode though y’all!

2023-06-24 02:28:35 +0000 UTCI will say the sidequesty nature of this season does remind me how much I loved the Bounty Hunter in SWTOR, and how I'd *adore* a fuller Kotor-style rpg about being a bounty-hunter with a rag-tag crew in the star wars universe.

2023-06-08 02:14:21 +0000 UTCTowards the end, when Austin was talking about pointing out how when you begin to point out logical inconsistencies the story itself has failed to pull you in. That’s a good point 👍 it’s something I’ve thought about for a long time but never been able to put so simply.

2023-06-03 05:18:16 +0000 UTCGotta mention, Axe's ship isn't a star destroyer, it's an Arquitens light cruiser (Gideon's ship in season 2 that Din promised to Bo-Katan). The camera acts like it's this hulking ship but it's tiny compared to an ISD (like 300m vs 1600m). Every time characters in this show are like "whoah great fleet" I had to laugh because one Arquitens, two Gozanti freighters, and a handful of fighters is NOT an impressive fleet, haha! Would be supremely outclassed by the rebel fleet in Rogue One.

2023-06-03 05:03:23 +0000 UTCJust a little bummed that there was no mention of Kelleran Beq. I do agree there were too many characters to keep track of, but still…

2023-06-02 23:12:50 +0000 UTCBloodlines is set 20 years after RotJ. The Mandalorian season 1 is set 5 years after RotJ. To learn more about politics in the early New Republic (within the first year after RotJ) you can check out Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath trilogy and Alexander Freed’s Alphabet Squadron trilogy

2023-06-02 20:30:15 +0000 UTCI heard a rumor (which I’m not sure is true) that the reason Din is barely in this season is because Pedro Pascal was busy filming Last of Us. Which would explain a lot of…

2023-06-02 15:01:21 +0000 UTCI don't think it's a fair criticism of the trilogy's writing to say Thrawn's art history powers are problematic when it's explicit that his racist arrogance and dismissal of the Noghri is literally what gets him killed.
