Patreon and Taxes
Added 2020-05-27 22:02:20 +0000 UTCHey folks.
I've been notified by Patreon that they're being required to start collecting sales tax on pledges starting July 1st. Boo. Hiss. I know. What isn't taxed these days, right?
The silver lining is that it likely won't affect your pledges and if it does it likely won't be by much. Whether your pledge is taxed depends on where you live and your local laws regarding digital content. As my Patreon is focused more on early and behind the scenes access and simply supporting my artistic endeavors rather than "purchasing" "goods," your pledges to me probably won't be taxed much in most states if they're taxed at all. If your locality does require sales tax be paid, Patreon will be contacting you about it soon.
I'm doing what I can to help save you as much money on sales tax as possible. I don't want you paying more taxes than you need anymore than you want to be paying them. Literally no one likes taxes.
If you have questions, you should be able to find answers here. If you still have questions, the best place to get an answer is from Patreon’s customer support team, here.
Thank you for all of your support. I'll get back to posting awesome and sexy art now.

Yeah, when I saw the post title, I thought it'd be a drawing of a sexy grim reaper or something. Instead it's all _practical_ and _relavant_. Geez.
