Emergency Appendectomy
Added 2022-09-20 23:57:11 +0000 UTCJust wanted to give ya’ll a quick heads up: I spent yesterday in the ER having my appendix removed. Not what I planned to do with my day, but sometimes we can’t control things.
Thankfully, I took myself into the hospital shortly after the pain started so it got dealt with before it did anything nasty like rupture. Surgery went well and I am recovering nicely. My stomach still hurts a fair bit, due to the incisions, but otherwise I feel significantly better.
So what does this mean for new art and comics (especially that Martian one I know you’re all looking forward to)? The truth is: I don’t know. I’m really hoping to get back to the drawing table in the next day or so, but honestly I don’t know how long I’ll be able to sit at my desk in my current state. I will be back to drawing as soon as I reasonably can, that is for sure.
In the mean time, I’m going to spend some time writing, which I can comfortably do from the couch. Which is actually really good, because that means I can dive right into comic stuff as soon as I’m back to my desk.
I’ll keep y’all apprised of how things are going and get back to art as soon as I can. Thank you all so much for your patience, understanding, and for being a part of my Patreon.

I could not be doing this thing, making these comics, without ya’ll. As a bit of an update: things are going well. Things are still a little tender but nothing unmanageable so I’m off the painkillers at this point. Which is great. I’m going to continue to take it easy through the weekend, but I expect I’ll be drawing again come Monday. Maybe a little slower than normal, but I’m going to give it a try. Thank you all again!

I know it feels like there's an obligation to keep uploading because of the Patreon model, but I feel we're all here for the QUALITY of your works. If you're not at your best, the quality suffers. Again, take your time recovering. I'm not stopping my pledge because of this and I know I'm not alone in that thought. Be well, feel better, live long and prosper. :)
