AMA - “Are You Single?”
Added 2022-11-07 19:05:37 +0000 UTCQ: “Are you partnered and/or dating anyone? How do your intimates interact with/think of your work?”
A: I’ve been long involved with a wonderful woman, and a year ago, I married her!

My wife is incredibly supportive of me and my work. She takes an active interest in my career and really admires my skill, even if not everything I draw is to her specific taste.
This is a question I see a lot of artists who do spicier art get asked. And the answer always is the same: the artist’s partner(s) love their art. Realistically, if they didn’t, they wouldn’t remain together very long.
Art is a very personally immersive career. It’s hard to not put SOME of yourself into each piece. And so a rejection of the art is always a little bit a rejection of the artist. It’s why so many of us are so sensitive to criticism. Obviously it’s one thing for strangers to not care for your work, but it’s another when it’s someone you love. There’s a reason parents are notoriously over-positive with anything their kids make.
But to wrap this up neatly, my wife and I are very supportive of eachother and that means being there for each other in all things. Even when those things are cartoon smut. But really now…
…who doesn’t like a little smut?
If you have a question for me, you can send me a message or drop it in the comments below! I’ve a bit of a backlog, but I’m going to do my best to give every question a thorough answer.
