My first time watching anything Avatar Air Bender related so this was a good one and an educational one at that.
What did they get right? What did they get wrong? Does it work? Big budget pilot? And lastly, does it make me want to continue with the series?

I really enjoyed the show and will most likely continue (on my own) as I only wanted to cover the pilot. Speaking of first episodes, I am going to look at Season 2 EP1 of the Master Cheeks Halo. I think I owe it to you guys for better or worse! Haha... You also answered my question that they rushed the information to catch us newcomers up within the first 60 minutes. I thought it was okay though. Glad to hear you're enjoying it even though it's only a 6/7 out of 10.

2024-04-09 10:10:36 +0000 UTCA lot of people didn't like the live adaptation. I feel like that's mostly because the cartoon is SO iconic. I can't believe you haven't seen it! If you have a spare 30 minutes each day I'd recommend watching it, it's easily one of the best shows ever aired even if it's a cartoon. Since you haven't seen the cartoon there's some comparisons you wouldn't understand in terms of characters and how the story progresses but overall I thought the live action was okay. 6-7/10 IMO because they did really try (unlike Halo and master cheeks). The only things I didn't like in just the pilot was the multiple exposition dumps like where the elder of the water tribe described the avatar and how it had been 100 years and where Aang looks into the camera for almost 5 minutes giving his whole background. Like I said though overall it's a decent show, especially if you haven't seen the original.
