Added 2024-11-12 00:05:00 +0000 UTCAs I stated in an earlier post, I just couldn't wait, this games story, cinematic experience has gotten the best of me and making me think about it all weekend! Well, not any more... It's Play The Tape time!
I didn't want to cover any of the lore videos or previous games (just yet) because I wanted to continue this adventure as the "new customer" to this franchise. Can I still enjoy it and take from it as an independent entity, not a saga so to speak. I know I would have enjoyed it more knowing everything from the lore but I'm not a loyal fan... just yet. It also allows me to approach this with a different set of lenses as a consumer. This is going to be interesting!!

Thank you, we couldn’t wait and purchased the episode already, I hope next one will be available to buy soon. He was happily watching from the side, it was my first big game that I ever played and I needed help with opening certain chests. I am playing it for second time now and it is just amazing game. I even got Blades of chaos for my bday 🤣

2024-11-14 21:49:31 +0000 UTCSo, I guess you already watched the whole game? If so, was it with or without the (free) story DLC Valhalla, that takes place after the main story? Bc if you haven't, you really should. It is a rogue lite, but also very focused on continuing the story. But also heavy spoilers for all the previous games, mostly the main 4. Well, so much so, that most of the stuff shown depends on you knowing what happens in the games and Kratos' backstory. If you plan on watching all the previous games (GoW 1, 2, 3, Ascension, Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus, I believe), then you also definitely should check out the Valhalla DLC, after having watched all the other games.

2024-11-12 12:47:31 +0000 UTCFor those that already know about the story and spoilers: I was always confused how Atreus got the dogs soul in his knife...but at 11:10 you can see 1 of the 4 parts of the dog's soul drift over to Atreus' knife while the other 3 fly off. Such crazy detail you have to pay close attention to I love it.

There won't be any spoilers for Ragnarok, but I'll put the important bits below, so don't read further if you intend to react to the first game. *God of War 1 Spoiler warning* The reason Kratos initially sought revenge against the gods is because Aries tricked him into killing his own wife and daughter. After this an oracle cursed Kratos by fusing his family's ashes to his skin, that's why he's so pale and what gave him the nickname "the ghost of sparta". I just feel like knowing about his first family explains a bit more why he's so protective to Atreus.
