I want to cover the original trilogy so stay tuned for that. Think you'd want to watch that?

Kai Zammit

You should consider watching Kratos previous history. There's a few videos going through the entire stories of the previous games. Your fans suggesting videos to you could definitely drum up a few good suggestions ^^

Oh you gonna love the old trilogy!🙌

kinda sad tho how they didnt inform the original voice for Kratos (Tc Carson) and just moved on to another actor. here is a quick 1 min clip of him explaining it: https://www.reddit.com/r/GodofWar/comments/taork1/nobody_informed_tc_carsonog_kratos_voice_actor/

Another great reaction Kai! Was great following your journey through the new games. Looking forward to you checking out the original trilogy + the 3 other side games if you decide to check those out which I highly recommend (Ghost of Sparta, Chains of Olympus, and Accession). Also looking forward to your Last of Us reactions

Great reaction again, been class watching you react. You see all and more in the greek saga. God of War 1,2 and 3. Plus Ascension, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta games definitely worth a watch if you want his full epic background. Cheers again for the great work sir

oh right, TIL. think I always just merged both terms together in my head. And yeah, I was half expecting younger Kratos to speak but the spoken inner dialogue was better than that would've been

Sorry if I'm pedantic, but it's actually a 'rogue-lite'. Rogue-likes have your whole progress completely reset upon death, whereas rogue-lites let you keep some of your progress in some way. Be that skills, equipment, stats or even just a story progress. Or, shortened: rogue-like death = start from 0; rogue-lite death = keep some sort of progress. And as I said before, the DLC was heavily targeted at veterans of the game series. I admit I was overwhelmed at times with nostalgia. Hearing the familiar old 'classic' music, seeing the 'original' enemies of GoW, seeing young Kratos, or when he wielded the Blade of Olympus! That said, it was a lot of nostalgia. So I can't even say how 'well made' the DLC/Story was for those that haven't played the originals. But for me, I didn't mind it, I liked it. Still wished that the Blade of Olympus would've gotten some sort of remark, though. No spoilers, but it was a very important tool in Kratos life, and played a very important role at the end. So that he just ... uses it? Without any comment? Felt weird to me. And I would've liked if young Kratos would've said something, too. Imagine, him speaking back to 'old' Kratos, but he's voiced by Terrence Carson! I really thought young Kratos would be the final boss, but I'm glad they didn't do that, just have some talking. Good choice. But still, letting Carson speak Kratos again, especially this young version would've been abolutely great in my imagination.

about your DLC question, to keep it brief it takes after a genre of game called "roguelikes" which is heavily focused on waves of gameplay and increasingly rewarding chance-based upgrades. I recently forced myself to finish it before this reaction lol and I unknowingly also picked the highest difficulty on this DLC after finishing the main story, and I was quite tired of the aspects of gameplay that I didn't like by then and the DLC didn't mesh well. When I came back after a while I lowered the difficulty so i'd finish it lol and ended up enjoying it a bit more. narratively, might be a bit controversial but personally, coming straight off the main story I thought parts of the story were a level below the main game and probably to the DLCs detriment, I was also similarly going into it without the nostalgia factor to maybe hide some of the disappointing parts. Characters felt beyond preachy at times and there was some dialogue that I immediately knew how it was going to end and what agenda or life lesson the writers were trying to get through. Almost like I heard the writers speaking rather than the characters sometimes lol. Despite that it's still a nice DLC, with Kratos & mimir and the far-between action moments although copy & pasted and some lacking cutscenes like you said, but at times it felt too much like a slog. Looking forward to The Last of Us Part 1 remake reaction (& cheeky tv also?) :P

Thank you so much for watching Grant.

Kai Zammit

That's so good to hear! Does he talk to you like Mimir in the older titles?

Kai Zammit

Helios voice is Crispin Freeman (you can know him as Winston from overwatch) and yes hes the original voice actor, for us who played previous games i love that we heard his voice before we see him i was like theres no way, i always love when they bring back after the years the original actors for their roles.

Fabian

Yes!! Was excited for this one! Hopefully the game does a good job at catching you up to the history of Kratos

Kale Upton

So hype about this! It’s been a pleasure watching you cover the God of War series.
