First time I think so far on this channel that the game in question has left a lasting impression on me but not because of the story!! What could it be then?

2025-02-28 10:31:11 +0000 UTCEternal was great, but nobody should be supporting the new game. They tried to rob Mick Gordon blind by refusing to pay him for his music, and then silence him legally. It was a massive drama and they seriously screwed him over.

2025-02-26 01:47:43 +0000 UTCDon’t get me wrong, I totally appreciate and respect the Doom and Quake games. But they’ve never done it for me. I love a good shooter and the Half-Life series is one of my all time faves. But I think its because the ones I gravitate to have more of a narrative hook.

2025-02-24 16:13:56 +0000 UTCYes definitely highly recommend rocksteadys Batman trilogy since you did origins. The improvements in gameplay and cinematics is great. Definitely try to find a balance of a video that has the side quests as they definitely add to the overall story.

2025-02-24 14:41:50 +0000 UTCFunnily enough i am replaying Doom 2016 and i have to say i prefer it to Doom Eternal, while Eternal did do a lot in story i just found the constant jumping and zipping around, constantly switching weapons not to be that fun. I am glad that Dark Ages they are bringing it back in line with the OG Doom and some of Doom 2016 gameplay. Saying that i still have a huge soft spot for Doom 3, for the story and the focus on horror. Mick Gordon the composer was a genius, Some of the "Instruments" he used where a Chainsaw and lawnmower. Doom is mainly played for the action and gameplay, If you really want the horror story experience then its Doom 3. Doom 2016 most of the story is in codex entries for you to read. Doom Eternal, has a lot more traditional cutscenes and the Doom the Dark ages has been confirmed to be a cinematic experience, the story will be told via cutscenes etc, instead of being in the codex entries. I would highly recommend watching the Doom Eternal story cutscenes and the differences between these 2 games in story telling is big.

I think sometimes massive triple A games search a lot for those cinematic cutscenes and its fenomenal, but sometimes I do miss having something that feels more like a game that you want to play more than watching it and Doom needed to be that one. Just so you know, for the doom soundtrack they actually brought a lot of heavy metal singers, men and women equally, and made a metal choir that you could bang your head always with the soundtrack of the game when you hear it

While i have enjoyed the elements of storytelling in the first one, they definitely expand on it in Doom: Eternal, but they both have the issue of putting a lot of the storytelling and cool lil moments in the lore notes in the menus. I'm incredibly excited for Doom: the Dark Ages, because they've said that's one thing they want to tackle and bring more of the story into the game. Highly excited to see you taking a peek at these games.

Although a few aspects of this one are better in different ways, I think the next game is superior. The gameplay, the story, the boss fights, and you even see humans and you get to see their reactions to The doom slayer 👍 the newest one coming out soon looks so amazing though I’m excited for that, there are trailers but I don’t know if you’d like to react to it since it’s mostly gameplay but I’m excited for that game I think it’s coming around may
