Our new journey is here and oh my goodness, what even is this game!? This is only part 1 and I've already been blown away by some of the cinematography. This is going to be an interesting ride because I can really dive in on the cinematic techniques used. Some of the shots and how the camera is being used, it's been taken from the filmmaking playbook, it really has.
So the cinematics are in check, great. What about the story and what does the gameplay do to keep us going? Well let's dive in on this two hour adventure and find out first hand what it's like in the mind and my first adventure into Hideo Kojima's mind palace. It can't be that crazy right?

For the gameplay question, there are combat, stealth etc but yes primarily is it a walking simulator. But it is also the best part of the gameplay by far) It may looks boring, and most of the people though the same, but it actually not when you’re experiencing it :) And the reason why is because how it is made. You need to actually control the character (you saw they could fall off) and given a lot a lot of different terrains it is very fun to do. You need to go through mountains, rivers, slippery terrain.. and all this in the absolutely amazing atmosphere. With it spices with the stunning music

I’m really hoping you connect with Kojima’s work, as a.) I’m a fan of his stuff and b.) He is a real pioneer when it comes to proving you can make some games cinematic in scope and presentation.

In part its a game about connecting with people, but there’s also some fairly heavy messaging about how badly we’ve messed up our environment.

2025-04-28 09:32:15 +0000 UTCA little fun tidbit of info that I don't think the playthrough will show, but there is a random chance to be hit with secret horror scenes when you enter the private room. They're particularly freaky 'cause you're not given an indication that something's off until you interact with something relevant in the room. One of them seems Silent Hill inspired which, if that's actually the case, is really cool considering Kojima's famous canceled "Silent Hills" game was a joint project with Guillermo del Toro and featured Norman Reedus as the protagonist. How crazy is that!? Hopefully Kojima's project with Jordan Peele works out. Really excited to see what those two come up with.

2025-04-27 18:31:36 +0000 UTCI think the longest cutscene is like 2 hours long? or so.. Ppl mentioned it's at the end of the game. But as far as I am, I've noticed that the scenes' cutscenes are quite long, like 10 mins+. You're in for a treat, though
