Arcane Season 2 Episode 7: "Pretend Like It's the First Time" [FULL REACTION]

I only noticed when editing the video together that they changed the vinyl record cover in the intro because Vi blank, blank in that timeline

I only noticed when editing the video together that they changed the vinyl record cover in the intro because Vi blank, blank in that timeline. WOW!! Now that really is some clever devil in the detail shenanigans! Just another reason I'm loving this show.

Typical in shows and stories, we join another group of characters when the shit hits the fan for the team we've been following however, this episode, I didn't even notice or better yet... moan because normally, I hate it. Just another reason why this is so, so good!

I wonder what it's like for you guys, fans of the games as well. Does this hit harder? Let me know.

Arcane Season 2 Episode 7: "Pretend Like It's the First Time" [FULL REACTION]

Comments

So no season 3 then. Wow.

Kai Zammit

A lot was said for the ending of this episode but members of the studio confirmed it was a scene made in memory of a deceased collegue. Also the art style of arcane and how complex it is nearly bankrupt the studio, hence why they had to stop the serie and end it there

Gabriel Sanayeh

Yeah, the team is really good is such hidden references. Another one I like from the dance scene is the zooming on the Jinx foot, which is referencing to the exact same shot from the Jinx vs Ekko fight in the first season

Mark

Thank you for this comment. Very much enjoyed reading about it all. Reminded a lot of the details from the first series that I forgot.

In case you didnt notice why Ekko's world was like that its because the death of Vi. The war between the underground and the elite had two key things: The creation of hextech and the lack of someone to blame for the heist. With Vi's death, they found out inmediately who were the ones that did the heist and didnt antagonize the underground, which didnt fuel up Silco's cause and eventually it cooled down. And also because the explosion was one of Jayce's invention and someone died because of it, they never gave a chance to hextech, which developed in not having a larger socieconomic gap between the rich and the poor, and also means that there was no anomaly formed in that world. And then you have that Heimerdinger showed up 3 years before Ekko came, and with his position he may have helped to build bridges between the underground and the elite. In other words, the heist was the key thing that changed everything, which was in part because Ekko gave them that job in the first place, and however it turned out changed the whole course of history

In Season 1 Jinx calls Ekko "the boy saviour" and nothing really cements that like giving up literal paradise and everything you've ever wanted to go home because you know that people need your help.

When they undercranked the camera for the dance, it was at 4 frames per second, which was definitely an intentional choice considering Ekko can go back 4 seconds. Everything is so thought out!

Onearmy

There's a lot that ties back to the game in intriguing ways. For example, in the game Echo can rewind an actual 4 seconds with his ultimate ability. That's why the dance scene is also animated at that framerate as well. Heimerdinger is a turret based engineering type hero, and that's why he is this capable as a mechanic and scientist. Jayce's hammer is also iconic for him. But none of it comes back in the same form as in the game because they really wanted to make it work for the characters in this world, so it's more like inspired by than direct references.

Will Sommers

Absolutely, I didn't mind this time like at all. I think you hit the nail on the head with that, a breath of fresh air it was. Also seeing Powder be so lovely was just awesome.

Kai Zammit

I completely agree with your comments around shows and stories jumping to another group of characters when shit hits the fan, but honestly it is such a well timed jump considering how heavy Episode 6 ends. Happiness doesn't seem to come around often in Arcane, so it was almost like a nice breath of fresh air to atleast see some characters experience it, albeit temporarily.

Mr Sym

Your week sounds interesting! I hope you enjoy the videos.

Kai Zammit

I've had such an intense week with concerts and auditions, but now I can rest and chill for the weekend. Even better, we just got TWO EPISODES in a row! Couldn't have been better timing for me, thank you!
