[Movie Club] Let’s watch Personal Shopper for September

I’d say that the inaugural movie club selection of Only Yesterday for the August podcast was quite the success, so with that in mind I thought we’d keep this train moving and announce next month’s movie: Personal Shopper (trailer here) 🍿
It’s all vibes with a mysterious mood that hooks you from the outset; as Kristen Stewart plays the titular personal shopper for some fancy pants celebrity but then gets caught up in a strange game with an unknown caller who texts her into engaging with some forbidden desires. Oh, and there’s also a bit of paranormal activity going on as she feels the ghost of her recently deceased brother might just possibly be trying to contact her… ya know, heebie-jeebie stuff 👻
It’s not a particularly scary movie or even anything I’d even put in the horror genre but it does have a ghost story sorta hanging throughout the entire film, so fair warning for anyone who gets a little creeped out about the subject matter. It’s a quiet movie, it’s sexy in a very solitary nature that really spoke to me, and I hope it’s one you guys will enjoy as well ✨
