[Check-In] π₯Ύ Hiking 9 miles on my day off cause I don't know how to relax π€£

Gonna keep this one short as I'm pretty wiped out after my long day π Literally woke up at 6am, left the apartment at 7:30am all packed up for a long hike, drove 2.5 hours out, did a 9 mile out and back (moderate difficulty) trail, had dinner, then drove the 2.5 hrs back home and made it back about 12 hours later!
However, I talked about in the audio how I was going to take the opportunity to try out a recording rig that I could use for when I head out to Japan again (spoilers: I'm heading to Japan again if you haven't caught up on the latest podcast π€), so I wanted to see how that would go while I was out on this hike. The stability is fantastic. Resolution and colour is so vibrant. Excellent choice of equipment. Saying that - You're hiking alone.... No Internet.... Miles from anywhere... Surrounded by everything you're bloody allergic to... And to top of it off, with frigging bears around... Are you INSANE?!? π³ π³ π³ Oh my GOD! I've good mind to scold you and be so relieved you're ok all at the same time. I've gone on hikes, even night time hikes, but never alone. Way too risky especially if you twist your ankle. It didn't take me too long to figure out the music. Born researcher what can I say #FF ππ btw, this particular version is basically the type of music I listen to at night. Perfect background music for the video GG π

Thank you for the check in and video of your adventures, GG π Also, glad you weren't attacked by any bears π that would be fucking terrifying! Fun story: my mom was attacked my a grizzly bear when she was a kid and my grandma scared it off with her shot gun (not at it of course just for the loud noise) But anyways lol Glad you're still relaxing in your own way! You don't have to sit still to be able to relax. Relaxing to me is just doing the things you love, not just working constantly. Cause I used to go hiking all the time too and it was super relaxing to me cause I just felt great being outside and doing physical stuff. The video was absolutely beautiful! π That quality is perfection β¨οΈ Sadly, I can't place the song, but it is a very soothing melody to go with the beautiful scenery. Can't wait to see all your adventures in Japan later this year!! π Also, if you feel up to it maybe the next time you go hiking, I'd love to see the gear you bring, especially that hiking stick! Cause mine my FIL made for me and is an actual tree branch, so like he smoothed it out and polished it and all that good stuff. But I always love to see the different ones people use.
