Chimera - unique spectral morphing tool (plugdata)

Unlock new control over your sounds like nothing you've seen before: Chimera provides the most authentic spectral morphing out of any tool on the market, all for free. Seamlessly merge any two sounds together with minimal artifacts, transferring the characteristics of one sound onto another. While most morphing plugins use overcomplicated proprietary tricks, Chimera's simple yet clever processing cleanly blends two signals without introducing artifacts like smearing or phasing. With several intermediate effects to spice up your sound before processing, Chimera is an all-in-one morph plugin that will be an essential tool in any creative sound-design environment.

NOTE: This plugin runs within Plugdata, a free and open-source platform for audio experimentation and prototyping. PLUGDATA IS STILL IN EARLY STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT, and may be unstable in a project. It is recommended to keep only one instance of Chimera active in your project, and rendered/frozen if possible. VST coming soon!

FEATURES

• PhaseMorph - Morph between the phases of the main and sidechain signals. The main star of the show.
• MagMorph - Imprint the spectral content of the sidechain onto the main signal. This is a form of live convolution, kinda like puriFIR if the impulse adapted in real time to the incoming signal.
• Filter Bypass - Preserve the low or high frequencies before processing, which can often lead to a sharper result.
• Transient Bypass - Like the Filter Bypass, preserve the initial impact of the signal to give a more convincing morph.
• Frequency Shift - Applies a frequency shift effect to the active signal before processing, which can easily give new textures to the morphed signal.
• Sidechain Width - Adjusts the width of the sidechain input, which can alter the effect of PhaseMorph or MagMorph.
• Wet Volume - Adjust the volume of the final processed signal before being added back to the bypassed audio.
• Flip - Easily swap what Chimera sees as the main and sidechain signal, for all possible situations.
