Self-service tool to resend the update emails
Added 2024-10-27 13:04:21 +0000 UTCAlthough most people have no issues receiving the update emails we send out when making new releases, there's still a small minority who don't receive these emails correctly. It seems like they mostly end up in the spam folder and on some services like Gmail these emails get automatically deleted after a number of days.
For this reason we have created a self-service tool where you can resend the latest update email to yourself anytime you want. You can find this tool here:
Hopefully it's self-explanatory, just be aware that there will be no confirmation telling you whether you actually entered an email address that is on the Android APK distribution list. This is by design as you would otherwise be able to figure out whether a certain email address is on the list, which would be a privacy concern. So make sure you enter the email address you use here on Patreon or the tool will obviously not work.
As well we don't synchronize the tool with Patreon continuously, it's instead done on a weekly basis. But since anyone that signs up to Patreon will always get one month of access to all posts this should not be a practical problem even if they can't use the tool during their first week as a member.
And to clarify, this tool is just added in addition to the regular email distribution, which means we will continue to send out the emails to everyone whenever we make a new release, just as we have always done.
