Secret Flasher Manaka Review

Secret Flasher Manaka is out, and it's pretty good! Compared to Secret Flasher Sereka, it's basically similar but with a lot more content. I've 100%'d most of the areas and I've reached the end in terms of rank, and it took me around 12 hours to get that far, so it's a pretty substantial game. While I'm not crazy about every single addition and how every little change was implemented, I do think that it's basically just a bigger, better, and more complete version of the previous game. If you liked Sereka, you'll almost certainly like this game too. Notable new features this time around include a much, much better futanari mode (it's worth doing for sure if you like that kind of thing!), urination content (:3), and the addition of handcuffs as a relatively major game mechanic. I also want to call out the normal-ass video game controls here. Low bar, but the first game required you to like hold a keyboard button down to play it like a normal video game, but this game just controls normally from the get go! And there's a lot of configuration options as well, including almost completely rebindable keys!

Overall, the game is about what I expected. In the previews, the developer mentioned "mental fortitude" and I assumed this was some sort of health system, so that being seen once wouldn't instantly end a run, but this is not true and I have no idea what mental fortitude is or whether it's even in the finished game. It's a shame, because I liked the idea of a health-like system that maybe would let you be really risky from time-to-time. There are some "skills" you unlock though. You gain the ability to slow time, which isn't that useful because you also slow down, and much later you gain the ability to stop time, though equipping this ability makes it impossible to complete missions.

For new stuff, the handcuffs are a great option! You can handcuff yourself to all sorts of objects in the environment, or just behind your back. You can toss the key away, use timers, or put the key on a drone to be taken to a random place in the level, too. You can also attach dildos to various surfaces like walls and chairs, not just the ground. You have an entire inventory this time around too, and can freely swap around your adult toys and even accessories and clothes out in the world, and also drink water from there to build up you urination meter.

Regarding some other new things, I do not like how the casual clothes were implemented. They just go under the coat awkwardly and flashing in them has no effect if the clothes cover your privates. I'm not really sure what the thinking or goal here was. It's clear a lot of work and effort went into this system but you can't like dress up in an outfit and flash in it. If you dress up in an outfit, it just makes you unable to flash because opening the coat...just reveals your outfit. I expected to be able to dress in clothes like separate tops and skirts and be able to flash in those with different animations, but no such luck. There's also like...randomized perks on equipment? I'm not even gonna get into it, but I'm not certain what the idea here was, and in my opinion, it's a waste of resources, save your RP to fund your body paint needs later in the game.

The clothes stuff is by far the oddest design choice, but there's a couple other weird things, too. Some of the missions really do feel like they more-or-less require body paint to complete. I know this was an option in the first game, but it was possible to do every mission in that game without it. The missions here are longer and more difficult, with some just literally being a dice roll with no chance for you to really do them in a smart way without the body paint, in my opinion. I 100%'d the first game without ever using the body paint, but in this game, I could not do that. The body paint is also insanely expensive, and it really should last a little longer before fading.

Another weird one was just the difficulty modes. The original game had an easy, normal, and "realistic" mode. Far from just being an insanely difficult mode, realistic mode was great in my opinion. NPCs had longer and wider fields of vision, but in exchange there were generally fewer around, and their detection meters were faster at very close range, but not as a distance. It felt like a different, but not that much harder way to play, and felt more immersive to me. This game just has normal and easy. The normal mode is more similar to the first game's realistic mode in some ways, but honestly, I did find the NPCs to be a little annoyingly quick to detect you, and there are a lot of them around in most levels. Sometimes NPCs would see you for only a second or two from an angle you couldn't see them from, and that's all it took. This happened a lot to me on the escalators at the mall, as the other escalator would block my view just long enough for me not to be able to see someone who could see me. It makes sense, but I'm not sure it's the best gameplay experience. That said, it's fine. My only suggestion would be to tune the NPC detection meters to be a little slower overall.

Speaking of the mall, the levels here are fantastic. We have a great mix of scenarios and levels to wander around in. There are a good number, and several of them are huge, too. You get a great mix of classic exposure fantasy ideas here: a convenience store, a quiet neighborhood, a park, an apartment complex, a mall, and a clothing store. While not every location is perfect, each one offers some sort of unique concept or gimmick you can exploit for exhibitionism--for example, you can flash while at the register in the convenience store, you can ring doorbells nude in the residential area, and you can ride the elevator naked in the apartment complex. It really is a great set of ideas and stages, from someone who clearly "gets" exhibitionism. At least, this developer seems to have a backdoor into my lizard brain when it comes to what I like about it.

I strongly recommend you check the game out, especially if you liked the first one. While I did have some gripes, it was mostly just confusion about how or why certain decisions were made, like why I'm rolling for random stat bonuses on fishnet stockings, but nothing I thought was weird or that actively took away from the experience. This is basically exactly what I wanted and what I hoped it would be!
