Test Build Alpha v. 0.1.18
Added 2022-09-19 10:50:56 +0000 UTCHello hello everyone,
and welcome back to Targa Florio!
How are you guys doing? anyone playing F1 Manager here? lol
Saw it on Jarno Opmeer's channel, and it looks interesting hahaha. Managing the Williams seems like the hardcore mode is it? I don't think he scored any points so far in his first season.
Anyway, back on track shall we?
Me and Beni are still experimenting with the photogrammetry. Individually, the result are pretty good. We struggle a bit aligning the different parts and importing them into 3Dmax. As Beni said, two step forward and one step backward lol. There's always something that's not quite right.
But we are making progress. I believe we will be seeing real result pretty soon! :D
As for the track update itself, here is the alpha version 0.1.18
The groove and tire marks is done-ish. Will be making more variants of the groove later on.
Beni updated AI fastlane, specifically the left and right track limit were fixed, and so far in the testing, the AI doesn't try to cut corners and killed themselves anymore.
Now that we can edit the fastlane using blender/3dsmax, it really saved a massive amount of time and brain cells XD
Also thanks a LOT to Weikangcai for making the ai_hint.ini. He also discovered some holes in the track, which seems to be a whole chunk of grass physical mesh gone lol. They were patched and fixed.
From here, aside from working on the photogrammetry, I will go back on working on the buildings. Still some more work needed at Campofelice, and I really love to wrap up Collesano as well.
Do come join us on discord if you haven't done already. Too bad I can't make a sticky post for things like this :/
Well I guess that's it for the update. I hope you guys have a great week!
Stay safe, stay healthy, and I will see you again soon!
Cheers!

2022-10-31 23:27:05 +0000 UTCI finally had the time last weekend to take my first complete lap since the update. No crashes (from me or the computer). I must do more!

2022-10-12 23:13:26 +0000 UTCExcellent! Haven't tried it since 0.0.4 .... it's like a different place! Quite the magnum opus! I would just say one very minor thing - whilst I love the full race-groove it's actually a little too dark (and loses sense of isolation?) And at twilight makes the road really very dark. But overall, super-impressive. Nice! Thank you!

2022-10-06 23:48:42 +0000 UTCafter a couple years not playing AC, playing your track in VR on a shelby cobra or a s2000 is an incredible experience. Too bad it crashed near the end (vr is doing it every once in a while in longer tracks), I would have liked to compare timings with the old rfactor version since the elevations and road lanes are so different. Keep it up, great job!
2022-10-03 13:33:04 +0000 UTCThe AI got a LOT better with this one. Thanks!

2022-09-27 09:14:56 +0000 UTCAmazing track, just did my first run last night. Fell under the map a couple times but I was determined π Great work and can't wait to see more updates.
2022-09-26 10:17:13 +0000 UTC18 is looking real good! Still a few stone fences that ai run into when passing each other. What about making an ai-friendly version (alongside the other) where the protruding-ish stone walls are not collidable on the leading end (but some invisible collider with a less destructive angle to it instead).

2022-09-21 15:28:47 +0000 UTCI didn't know somebody had actually developed a car so ancient! Thank you!
