Update Build v.0.2.02 (Crash fix)

Hello Everyone!

I am truly sorry for the crash issue. It is totally my fault during testing that we missed that crucial error :(

In the end, there is a limit to how many type and amount of 3D trees can be rendered at the same time after all. This will significantly change the future plans. Maybe a mix of 2D and 3D trees is the best option we got for a track with this size :/

so here is the update build v.0.2.02 

and the original full 2D trees kn5 file in case you're not using 3D trees

For convenience sake, I compiled it into a new build instead of just a few modified files.

- removed a significant amount of 3D trees on the big landscape

- adjusted rendering distance of some type of 3D trees/bushes


I did 3 full laps of test and the crash error is gone. I hope you won't be having the error again.

For VR users, it is unfortunate but there are no other option right now than to remove the 3D trees to get acceptable fps. I will definitely take it into consideration in future builds as well

Beautiful! Thank you! I'm running the latest build (mixed 2D/3D trees) in VR with a full grid of AI cars, with no issues and good frame rates. (CSP 0.2.1, RTX3080Ti, Rift CV1)

Hi! Thank you for keeping improving this beautiful track, I'm really really hyped for the LIDAR release. Just one note: AI doesn't work in the practice layout, when the exit the pitlane they just crash into guardrails. Once they cross the start line they are fine, but they can't get there on their own. It would be great to have working AI in that layout since it's the best to have Nordschleife-like trackdays.

Hi, just want to say thank you for this amazing road/track, it suits perfectly AC both as a road to drive on in the great street cars we have in the sim and as a track for time attack/rally/vintage racing. In my opinion this track should be in AC2 together with Nordschleife for the ultimate driving/racing experience. Have you tried getting in touch with Kunos about this?

Oltre ai complimenti per il tuo fantastico lavoro, volevo chiederti, non riesco a ottenere fps accettabili nella traccia in VR, ho provato a sostituire il file trees con quello 2d che hai postato ma non cambia nulla, fps bassissimi e mi pare gli alberi non siano neanche cambiati, sto sbagliando qualcosa?

I just came here to say that after the recent CSP/Pure Updates with the sunblinding effect, this awesome tracks looks even more stunning. Regarding the visuals and the texture the landscape until the horizon, this is by far the visually most appealing track in AC. When the sun hits through the 3D trees, absolutely spectacular. The only thing that I notice as improvable is, that the road looks and the walls next too it look a bit too clean. Anyway, thank you for this amazing track!!!

HI Alexandre- I wondered about that too, but eventually just installed AC specifically for this track. I miss a few things I like better in RF2, but not many. Both of them unfortunately lack many of the features that made GTR2 such a fantastic sim...

Sandra- FWIW I running an AMD 5700 3.7GHZ/ RTX3070 with 16GB RAM at 1440x3440 and I'm not experiencing any frame rate issues. And that is with a grid minimum of 20 cars with 4k skins. Not sure, but you may want to see if you have all the latest drivers/optimizations and nothing else using resources.

Just joined your Patreon to get the lastest version of Targo Floria. Many thanks, you must have put many hundreds of hours into it. By far the best track for AC. I have 1440 x 3440 screen, RTX3090 and i9-13900K. I couldn't help notice the frame rate drops to 21 fps in some parts of the track and there are a few mile or so sections that I experience mid 20's to low 40 fps. It looks like it happens mostly in heavily forested areas but not always. I don't have all the settings at max in AC, fairly sensible settings plus I have limited the fps to 85. Is it just the 3d trees? Apart from that the track is the pinnacle of AC mods and you deserve much praise.

Can’t double check as I’m still on vacation in Sicily, but I believe not all versions have the same crowd size. Try the practice version.

Hi- New member here but been driving this track on RF2, GTR2 and from the very beginning on GPL. You have done an amazing job so far. I’ll be visiting the real place for the coming Classica next month and wonder if anybody else will be there? Will be my first time visiting Sicily and I can’t wait!

This time it's perfect ! I did almost a full lap and the only crash I had is me in a guardrail before Campofelice :-D It's amazing now with 3D Sicilian trees :-) A lot more immersive !

Pretty much everywhere. I have a CSP settings that gets me 100% resolution on my Reverb G2 at 90Hz with the 2D trees. The only frame drop is at the hairpin just before you go under the half-built expressway. With the 3D trees it can't hit 90fps, usually around 70-75.

I just downloaded your track and installed this latest version. this is an absolutely epic build! fabulous work. I ran an entire lap in VR (Quest 2 and RTX3090) and it seemd to run quite smoothly for me, although I ran it solo with no other cars. Brilliant work Abulzz!!

You may need to un-tick an option in CSP settings along with the other 9-trees.kn5 file. If you can’t find that or it doesn’t work you can just “comment out” the trees_fx lines in the ext_config.ini

Yeah, 3D trees are pretty much unuseable in VR for me. I've rolled back to the June version. Can you release a 2D version of the update as replacing the 9-trees.kn5 file in the directory hasn't worked. Also I am seeing floating ghostly shadows across the track in places. Edit: I dropped my headset down to 60Hz to drive the new map and yes, it's great but I think I'll stick with 2D trees @ 90Hz for now.
