Targa Florio Scanned preview

Hello hello everyone,

and welcome back to Targa Florio!

First of all, Merry Christmas and Happy happy holidays to you!

I hope you all are having great time this holiday season. either it's with your family, lover, or friends, and maybe your beloved sim rig as well!

New Year is just around the corner. Have you got any plans? Well for me, New Year's eve is ordering some extra large pizza with all kind of toppings, watching movies or playing games, and go to sleep at 1am at the latest lol. Gone past the days where I would go out and celebrate outside.

Not that New Year lost its meaning to me, but I just can't stand the traffic jam! hahaha. It's madness on the road here during New Year's eve.

Anyway, let's save the new year resolution for next week, shall we? XD

The other day, Beni shared some sneak peek on the experimental preview version of the scanned road on discord. and as promised, we are releasing the preview version today.

Please do keep in mind, this is a experimental version. The landscape is just filler near the road, and the road itself will change. We used this version to test the workflow and then evaluate the result. There are still many more details that can be extracted from the scanned geometry, and we want to make sure we make the most out of it.

Here is the Targa Florio scanned version experimental preview

well that's it for today.

as always, stay safe, stay healthy, keep on racing, and enjoy the last days of 2024

Thank You!

Just from looking at the picture it reminds me of roads on Small Rock Island in BeamNG. Love driving those in the Ibishu 200X and it feels so alive on my T500. Much better than anything in AC right now besides something realitic like the Photogrametry maps. Can't wait to test this road out. Looks super realistic!

Thank you very much for your answer, now the track surface looks fine for me.

Tassile

Unfortunately, I cannot find either of the above settings under "Track Adjustments".

Thanks again for continuing to improve and already great icon. On a 3 axis motion rig and direct drive wheel this road is alive and perfect. Not overdone, traction feels right and not only seeing the bumps and rollers but feeling them at the same instant. Can't wait for it to be integrated into the full course.

Maybe it's been renamed to "snap tyre grooves to surface?". Tried the setting and no mirror finish with it on or off for me, works fine. might be worth trying though if you do have an issue.

In CM - Track Adjustments - Draw Grooves over track - I think that is the option that makes this happen in some other tracks as well.

Brooke Derry

I tried playing the scanned data preview but the road surface in front of the vehicle looks like a mirror.
