Let him get huge and while he's blissed out and being a huge jerk, trying to dominate wayyyy too many huge hunks, he gets thirsty for more and.... well they give it to him and he gets immobilized. Allowing them to get bigger too. He sees the error of his ways, but he still wants to get bigger and they oblige him, making him bigger than any of them but he's still immobile and a danger to no one and unable to compete so everyone gets what they want ;)

That way you can satisfy all your supporters and not disappoint anyone. Because why add a bad guy if you're just going to treat him like a stepchild? That doesn't make sense and isn't logical. The comic should have concentrated on the good guys from the start.
