Chapter 58: Questions and Answers

https://www.fictionpress.com/s/2961893/58/Mother-of-Learning

A new chapter is here! Finally. I apologize once again for lateness.

No worldbuilding post this time, but here is some Red Robe fanart from one of my readers.

Comments

Yup. I'm just late like usual.

Domagoj Kurmaic

Is the chapter coming today?

BRUNO ASTUR

Nope.

Domagoj Kurmaic

Domagoj, are you planning to do NaNoWriMo?

JDG

Ugh, I wish the next chapter was already out! Such an emotional cliff-hanger! And this is the type of cliff-hanger that will likely take a part of an entire arc to resolve. There is so much in the works now!

JDG

From what Kael said about familiars and what Raynie said about new shifter clans, probably pursuing Grey Hunter shifting would be dangerous as all hell . . . Using a potion to turn into a a Grey Hunter may only be dangerous as some of hell.

JDG

Oh damn, is this the beginning of new and improved and more hardcore Zorian???

How viable would be transforming into a Grey Hunter, either with a shifter ritual or with a potion, be?

Vanathor

Iv been waiting and now it's here! It's like Christmas =D

NomadicSoul

He could just pay someone to teach him if he really wanted to. Lukav would be open to tutoring him, for example. He lacks the time to practice the brewing techniques, that's his real limitation there.

Domagoj Kurmaic

Zorian could steal the transformation potion brewing techniques now as well as several shapeshifting rituals as those bind to the soul. / He may be reluctant to alter his soul, though, for fear of altering the marker. / The next four years are going to be intense . . .

JDG

No, Xvim is just proposing he look through their memories.

Domagoj Kurmaic

Question. Does the method Xvim propose allow for the stealing of bloodline talents via harvesting the rituals these mages use to gain their powers? How about soul sight?

Vanathor

I really enjoyed this chapter. MoL is kind of laid back, but it's absolutely relentless: Zorian's always learning new things and improving. (I guess you could call it... a slow burn.) This chapter was a great example of that.

Just a better mental understanding.

Domagoj Kurmaic

Good Chapter! I'm not sure I understand the mechanics of how Zorian will speed up his training from transformation potions. Does transforming leave an imprint on his soul which allows him to use a new special ability? Or does Zorian just gain a better mental understanding of a subject while under transformation which allows him to conduct personal research more efficiently later?

AN

Celebrating with Mexican food as I read this ;)
