Preventing teleportation allowed Xvim to get in that layered orb, which distracted QI long enough for Zach's knives. If Zach and Alanic had been tossing Kael’s soul-dispelling coins at that moment, the battle would have been over.

I'm kinda surprised to find that Xvim hasn't taken a greater interest in physical fitness given the importance to the application of defensive magic, but I guess he doesn't use it in practical application as often as Alanic.
