1/24/2025 Progress Update: Biggest Update Yet!

Hello, Meerkats!

Every update turns out to be the biggest update because I want to make more content for you all. I made a quick meme to symbolize my thoughts on this matter.

The next update, Game Day, has been split into two. This was not because I wanted to, but simply because it was the only way to get this update out without making it the length of an entire novel. Basically, I'm splitting the update into the cheerleading variant and the spectator variant. If you joined the squad last update, you'll get the cheerleading variant of the game. If you didn't you'll get the spectator variant.

Did you know the minimum length for a novel is thought to be around 40k words?

Yeah, this update is not even done and it's at 23.4k words. When I'm done, I think it'll be around 30k words. If I hadn't split this update, 0.17 would've been around 50k-60k words. I needed to split this update in half not only for my own sanity but to keep the update schedule consistent.

So, which variant is coming first?

The cheerleading game day update will be first! The next update will cover the spectator game day variant. After that, we'll be back on track with the outline I laid out last progress update.

I've been writing a lot these past few days. Since I recovered from my illness, I've written over 20k words in a week.

 I estimate the next update to be released sometime between 1/26/2025 and 1/29/2025. I will do my best to get the update out by then for you all.

Here are some things that will be included in 0.17!

• Put on makeup as a cheerleader.

• Gossip about boys.

• Flirt with Jessica.

• Cheer at the game!

• Go after Jordan, Jessica, or your two best friends after the football game ends.

• Go hang out with the squad after the game.

• Play truth or dare, spin the bottle, or gossip about the latest happenings at Pacific Crest High.

Oh, wait, I didn't include any art in this progress update. I know most of you are here to just look at the art, so I'll have to add some of the work that's been done this past week.

I commissioned some art of Ethan in traditional Chinese clothes for the Lunar New Year! I'm not sure if the artist will be done by then, but here's the art!

Also, the first piece of art you see in the game is a horrible one that was AI-generated. I think it's a bad first impression, and it'll be getting replaced by a custom background soon!

Some emojis for Ethan have also been completed! They're all adorable and can be used in the Official A Mirror's Curse Discord Server.

Finally, we have some fan art of Ethan drawn by the lovely Izumi! It's so fucking good, and you have no idea how happy I am that an artist as talented as her made something for this game.
